    Sounds good.

To avoid TF Vader having a Headmaster style blockhead, they could do what they did with TR Leader class figures. Have the Headmaster become the face and then have a separate Vader helmet come down over it.

I cracked this guy open and I really like him! Solid vehicle mode and the bot mode is pretty fun if a little fiddly with the wing cape pieces getting in the way of articulation.

Also, I was messing with Titans Return Megatron and... what could've been.

It's not a perfect fit. The ball joint neck on TIE Vader is too big (but his stock Vader head pops off easily) so I had to loosen the headmaster's screw a little to pop off the TM head and allow the ball joint neck to fit.

Also gave him a Kotobuikya red LED light up beam saber. The stock lightsaber blade is way too short and stubby, making it look more like a nightstick than a sword.

All in all, a cool figure!

Sigh, yeah, Darth Vader piloting Megatron. Now THAT would have been a crossover.

I like the approach they took with Han Solo. I'm not fond of 'hair/clothes' effect the old toyline used (Chewie is excused. Obviously he needs his hair. Just as much as I need my arms.).

I wasn't too fond of the old Marvel Transformers. I like what Takara have done with Star Wars, so far, which is why I want them to have a go at Marvel. They're already pretty good at making 'regular' alt-mode Transformers, so they should be able to come up with something special.

Also I want a Leader-Class battle armoured Hulk-bot (Thor Raganarok-style) and Hulkbuster with tank alt-modes.

This had me thinking 'Aren't you a little short for a Vader?'. But other than that, the new one blows the old one away, IMO. It's just the kind of figure I was hoping for, except for the fact that the wings don't transform into his cloak.

You mean the twin Vader lightsaber chopsticks? Now I'm thinking it might be a good idea to hunt down the blue, green and Kylo Ren ones. Just in case.

    Alt mode.

I'm talking about these: Modeling Support Goods; Kotobukiya; "LED Sword" | HobbyLink Japan

The hilt isn't a perfect fit since they're not 5mm posts (they're quite a bit thinner) so they kinda fit very loosely in Vader's fist ports. The lack of wrist swivels (combined with the huge chest) also kinda hurts the mold since he can't pull off any two-handed poses.

Still, despite these shortcomings I rather like this figure and I'm definitely in on the Millennium Falcon and any other future toys they might offer!

Was tinkering around with this figure again today and modded a spare head I had from Voyager Cloud Megatron to fit on the ball joint neck piece. It fits perfectly in both bot and alt mode. :D  I think the Megatron head works well with this figure!

"Your Matrix is no match for the Dark Side of the Force, Prime!"

    FB_IMG_1522737510435.jpg

Head tucks away into the back of the TIE Advanced X1 without a problem for transformation.

    FB_IMG_1522737516876.jpg

Now I want a bunch of Seekers with TIE Fighter, Interceptor, Bomber, Defender and Striker molds flanking this guy! Plus Soundwave with an Imperial shuttle alt mode (with scout droids as his cassette minions) would be awesome too! Shockwave with an AT-AT alt mode would rock my socks.

On a side note, I noticed that the lightsaber that comes included is actually molded to look like Vader's hilt but inverted upside down (the blade comes out of what should be the bottom of the hilt) while the slanted silver emitter piece (where the blade should appear) now serves as the bottom of the hilt.

Also, half the hilt is missing (what should be the bottom half with the black vertical rubber grip pieces). This inaccurate scultping faux pas annoys me a little since there is still a bit of length of TIE solar panel wing to hide the blade; they didn't need to make it so short and stubby looking.

I might actually pry or cut off the stock blade (it seems to be a separate piece that's glued into the hilt), Dremel a hole vertically through the hilt, kitbash and add the missing bottom half, and insert the Kotobukiya light-up beam saber through the correct orientation for a better and more accurate Vader saber that fits 5mm fist ports.

I have this figure and overall I like it but there’s severe paint chipping on his nice shiny black paint where it’s on tabs used for transformation or weapon storage. The tab on the left side of his chest plate and the tabs on the wings that hold the lightsaber in alt mode are severely chipped on mine after only two transformations. The wing tabs aren’t so bad but the chest plate tab is really obvious and bugs me. I noticed that this figure was made in Vietnam. I believe some of the Masterpiece figures made there have paint chipping and chrome issues. Maybe they aren’t curing the paint properly on some figures?

Oh and I thought the packaging was really nice. I usually only keep Masterpiece packaging and I did end up recycling Vader's packaging but it was a tough decision!

I'm hoping for Boba Fett or General Grievous, but the way this line seems to be influenced by who's being marketed in the current films, I'd say the next one would be Kylo Ren for episode 9.
