Found Shockwave but not Sideswipe. At least it was the more interesting of the two. He’s great! He may be simple but something about him just begs to be transformed. It’s quite fun.

 

Just got this guy today at Walgreens. I love him. Not a fancy bot buy any means, but I've already well gotten my money's worth.

Found another Shockwave today at the same Walgreens where I found my first a week ago. Opened this one up of course to add to the display - the other I'm hoping to someday get autographed.

Seriously, anyone here unsure about getting this guy but happen to stumble upon one, hit me up. I'll make it up to you.

 

Found Sideswipe yesterday. He's got a bit of the 'junk that I'll probably get rid of in the not too distant future' vibe going on, but for now I'm enjoying him. Nowhere near as exciting as Shockwave, but nice enough. He has knees at least.  

If I come across another Shockwave I'll grab one to pass along here. So far I've seen either just Prowl, Shockwave and Prowl no Sideswipe, Sideswipe and Prowl no Shockwave. It's too bad they packed Prowl in again, should have been another Shockwave.

 

Weapons go a long way to helping Sideswipe, Prowl and Optimus, if you have some lying around unused. After dismantling a Nova Prime to put together a GalvaConvoy, I passed the rifle and axe over to Prime. He's awesomesauce now.

 

has anyone on Shapeways made Knees for Shockwave yet?

 

Went to 5 Walgreens last week. Only had a couple Prowls total between them all. Got lucky today at the sixth. I think the limited or one out at a time policy there doesn't help us in the hunt.

A good bot and great stand in for now...but might never be transformed to jet again. Anyone else's chest swivel terribly loose? Unusably so?

 

I think it's a nice figure, far beyond stand in status. It's leaps and bounds above KFC'S fragile mess.

The knees must be fixed to be "perfect" but doggone, this is a nice figure.

That said, it shows you just how much Shockwave and Ironhide and characters like them end up on the back burner for really no good reason. This feels an awful lot like a CHUG concept that got almost all the way there, then they said "Nah, Shockwave doesn't sell, let's just make him the cheapo line guy and move on."

I do wonder if CB is a test market of sorts to see how a character might sell. It's odd that Shockwave and Sideswipe would end up in this line, especially Shockwave.

 

Its too bad the entire wing section isnt on a separate flip out part on a hinge from the torso, instead of just the wing tips, so you could just pop them off to get him a lot closer to his G1 look but it looks like it will require some serious surgery to remove them from the back of his torso.

He'll need some custom work to really shine, but I'd say he's worth 19 bucks.

 

He's got some great shots posted, I added mine as well - some scale comparison 'presence' shots next to Motormaster and Hung-Gurrr.

I've acquired Prime, Bumblebee, Jetfire, Prowl, Shockwave, and Sideswipe. I've sold all but the latter three. Bumblebee is a disaster (Btw, BBTS has the 11" Commander version in stock for $35), Prime is cool but doesn't hold up to other versions, Jetfire feels generic as hell and does not evoke the character at all.

On the other hand, Prowl and Sideswipe are just solid, quality built, simple, but all around fun G1 Autobot car goodness. They just hit the mark somehow. Shockwave is the most appealing, for all the reasons mentioned. A great 'Voyager-sized' Generations Shockwave.

I hope they make more G1 Autobot cars that are in need of newer updates like Sideswipe. I mentioned before that an Ironhide/Ratchet release through this line would be excellent.

 

I agree with you about Bumblebee. He's kind of a dumpster fire when it comes to his robot mode. And the Commander version seems naff being nearly twice the size of the other Autobots.

But I like Optimus quite a bit...even better with weapons given to him. Plus, he can mock gut crunch.   That said, I'd love the opportunity to own the Commander version if he was offered at a much more reasonable price than Ebay ($90? Seriously?).

Jetfire is obviously a modified seeker...but that strangely works for me if you think of him as a former seeker with Starscream turned Autobot. And they did a fair amount of new tooling to differentiate him from Starscream, if you have one (I have the excellent KO version).

Overall, I'm so impressed with these that I ordered Megatron off Aliexpress.

Grimlock looks kinda weird to me...interesting but definitely not Grimlock.

 

I found Cyber Battalion Shockwave and Prowl at Walgreens in Stockbridge, Ga. They had only one of each and one Jetfire. So far I have Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Jetfire, Prowl, And Shockwave. I’ve been searching for Prowl, Shockwave, and Sideswipe. I’m still missing Sideswipe.
