I initially didn't care about Primal at all cause I don't think he needed a new toy. However I like that they made his Matrix Spark Blue and put it in his cockpit as if he was caring Prime's Spark like in the show. I'm not going to go hunting him down or anything but if I run across one in the store and there isn't anything else of interest I might pick him up. That said I still would much prefer and really hope they make a retool of this mold for Beast Machines Megatron. He still does not have a toy despite this being the third toy based on the Optimal design, how freaking hard is it to release a toy with Megatron's face instead of Primal's? The Titanium version didn't even have a beast mode to begin with so it was like it was intended to be Megatron and they still gave him Primal's face, why? I badly want a Megatron out of this mold. If I do pick up Primal and Hasbro never makes Megatron I might end up trying to get a custom.

Accept our Power and achieve Grand Ascension Now Arise Optimal Optimus Primal Prime!
I think a straight head swap is out if the question, If they completely remolded it to be pre-beast Megatron and made it compatible with Optimal that would work. But I doubt the market for the Megatron head swap is anywhere near sufficient for them to go that route.... Now Primal Prime...
Well this mold would require a lot more work than just a head swap. The Titanium mold would just need a different head as the body is already made for Megatron. The original mold would need a whole new chest plate and shoulders as well as the head. New shoulders because the molded in Maximal insignias have to be smoothed out for Megatron. New chest plate because he doesn't have a beast mode but it's still needed for that front wheel. This would actually be the most complicated retool since the smaller robot would essentially be an entirely new figure with the exception of the actual cockpit part.
He was shown at Toyfair back in February: Toy Fair 2018 - Generations / Power Of The Primes Images - Transformers News - TFW2005
I'm still really uncertain of this toy. It looks fun, I like the placement of the Matrix core, glad to see some non-G1, ...but: I hate monkeys/apes. I'm not particularly fond of Beast Wars. I wish Star Saber had won since this gimmick was made for him (kinda hoping he's Nemesis Prime's wavemate? They know people want him, too).
Nemesis Prime won't have a wavemate, since he's going to be some kind of exclusive. There's only 3 retail waves of Leader-class figures for PotP.
Eh? Where did that come from? PotP has four waves. It doesn't make sense to only have three waves of leaders.
John Warden stated as much in an interview. Combiner Wars and Titans Return both had one fewer Wave of Leaders than Deluxes, so it's to be expected.
The only thing I remember him stating was that it was four waves. Also, the leaders aren't the only size class to not get a final wave. Titans Return had one less wave of Legends, Titan Masters, and Voyagers. So that's not really much of an indication of what's going to happen with PotP.
Waves are on a per-pricepoint basis. While it usually happens that wave refreshes are across the line in order to keep the whole product line fresh, there's no actual internal rule or anything that says that's how it always has to be. As the above posters state, there's already been some de-sychronization in recent years.
