Just hit up the Fort Gratiot MI store, it's still at initial discount rates. They have either given up on marking out the bar codes or being strict about it. I'm assuming they've hit the point where they're not doing returns any longer, but I'm not sure, I haven't been paying attention to that part.

 

Feels more like a temp or remaining employee thing going on. Temps simply forget since they're just trying to get checking out people right and fast. Remaining employees, it's just an extra step on what they already know how to do.

And we can expect these 10% discounts for a while, probably til the end of April.

I'd like to see TRU Hong Kong provide worldwide sales via their website. Earlier releases, more fresh stock, exclusives and all shipped via EMS or SAL, anywhere in the world. I'd buy from them in a heartbeat.

I've used EMS from Hong Kong... 2 days. Two. Days.

 

I have been lucky so far. I have a good relationship with most of the employees at my local TRU, as they know me as a collector, etc, and not one prone to return things to begin with, so the couple of items I have bought so far, they did not mark up the package as they know I am a MOSC/MISB collector. That being said, I always make sure I check out with one who knows me well

 

It could hit 15-20% sooner at some stores depending on how sales are going and how much stock is remaining. Many locations only have until summer to wrap it up, too, and will have to be more aggressive.

 

Impossible to know for certain, of course, but since different regions have gotten different exclusives on occasion in the past (there are TRU Japan exclusives that never came to the US, for example), I assume it's possible, perhaps even probable.

 

Must be a wave 2 store like us, it's all coordinated nationwide. Wave 1 stores (the original 180 that were announced in January) are near their tentative final day of business and have the very deep discounts which should be the exact same at every wave 1 store. The wave 2 stores are all at up to 30% off for the time being. Once we get the go ahead, wave 2 stores will all simultaneously increase markdowns to the next designated percentage.

 

Probably a solid update to share, for our region (the one the Maryland DC serves) we have two trucks per week for the next three weeks (including this week) to go until shipments stop completely to stores.

 

Got this in from Mandarake's ebay today in honor of TRU's passing. I've had the legends scaled one for a long time and always wanted this version but couldn't talk myself into the price before.

 

Paid off my last TRU bill and put the card in a sleeve. It will sit on my shelves next to my own personal TRU location.

Also, I thought it fitting to place the Amazon exclusive Unicron ominously in the background.

 

That's exactly it. None of my local stores that I frequent were on the original list. The one I hit in Ohio (Miamisburg) however, was on the list. I haven't hit it much in recent years, since GI Joe and Star Wars Vintage Collection left the shelves.

After more than two weeks of "Label Created," my final TRU order actually - lo and behold - moved and is now in my state. I know it's sentimental and silly to many, but I for one am overjoyed that I could have this one final transaction work out with TRU, a company that meant so much to me in my youth. I would have gone to a B&M location, but a) there are none in my town and b) health prevents travel currently, especially for something that non-critical, sadly.

Claim canceled. (Don't regret initiating it, though. Only prudent under these circumstances and 10+ days of zero movements, given other people's experiences.)

 

Have faith! TRU just informed me that all of my previously delayed items (including Grotusque) have shipped!

 

I betting TRU.com received a lot of extra orders over those last few weeks and just needed extra time to process them all.

 

Went to Toys R Us in College Point, Queens, NY on Tuesday and the highest the discounts are is 30% off.
Everything worthwhile is 10% off, which is nothing.

 

This is a tru in the 1st wave of closings.

 

Lucky you. Several of my delayed orders including TR Arcee were eventually cancelled by TRU. I did get my TR Grotusque that I ordered last month but I got confirmation and shipment the next day on Grotusque; however, I wanted Arcee too.
