It's a franchise made to sell toys. Surprise! We were consumers from the start.

It is disappointing, but the movie is still about 9 months away, so I don't think it's unreasonable. The earliest I've heard of a movie getting a trailer is 8 months (besides the Force Awakens), and even that's usually for really big things. Bumblebee sounds like it's going to be a smaller movie. I'm sure the marketing will kick in closer to time.

I think you're confusing "fiction" with "religion", though they're close to the same thing

What I mean is that it'd be nice for the filmmakers to show that they consider their audience as people who have an emotional investment in a nuanced piece of art, rather than chumps that the newest soulless product needs to be sold to.

If Studio Bones still put out Super Robot shows, I’d suggest them.

    They don’t.

    You are correct.
To some they are the same.
Or they at least revere them in the same irrational zealotist manner.

Just give me cool robot fights and interactions and I\'ll be fine. I don\'t give a shit about which celebrity is in the lead

Excited for this film because of Travis Knight but there is something about John Cena I just do not care for. Hopefully this movie will change my mind about him and if it doesn't, then at least he won't be apart of the Reboot.

I love John Cena. He's such a wrestler.

"the way that the consumer will now view Bumblebee" is the best PR talk we've gotten since Titus Welliver had to apologize for saying Age of Extinction might not be kid-friendly.

What this franchise really needs right now is to get the general public's interest again.
Hasbro needs a new cash cow and the fandom needs new blood.

Hasbro needs to ditch Machinima and sign Studio Trigger, or maybe Studio Bones, though they haven’t done mecha for a bit.

Well trailer wise its understandable but they haven't announced the title officially nor have they released a teaser poster or image of BB. Both things we got when TLK started filming! A YEAR before its release! The social media accs are also dead. Only thing they did was to change the profile pic from OP to BB.

Wait a minute, you mean to tell me a guy who is in the movie is promoting it???? Like I wonder if he stands to benefit from the movie benefiting? I wonder if stars often pan a movie they are in publicly before it comes out?

Ohhhhh so many things to wonder...

True, but keep in mind this is said to be a smaller movie than TLK, which was supposed to be a big event blockbuster. TLK had a lot of robots to show off, but they probably don't want to make people sick of seeing Bee's face before he movie comes out, lol. Even then, I'm guessing the early marketing will kick in fairly soon.

Honestly, what has me more worried than the lack of marketing is the lack of statements by the cast and crew. We've heard a couple of things from John Cena, but very little from Hailee Steinfeld (and she's pretty active on social media). Also, we've heard next-to-nothing from Travis Knight himself, which is kind of strange to me. As far as I can tell he doesn't have much of an online presence (I can't find him on social media), but usually the directors talk about their work. Bay always seems to be talking about his cameras and cars, lol. Overall I'm not too worried though, I'm sure all that will also come soon.

I'd settle for being able to tell what I'm actually looking at as opposed to watching an indiscernible mess of parts flying around.

Also an.actual congruent plot with likeable characters, that's not too much to ask for.

I refuse to believe any sort of BS coming from such people. They're only goal is to create hype and excitement to save the franchise. Put their money where their mouth is and TRULY produce a good movie. The proof is in the pudding as they saying goes. In other words, we shall see how good (or bad) this movie is once it hits theaters.

Except Hamill later took back those statements and admitted he was wrong.

As for the Bumblebee movie, I’m cautiously optimistic. Like the other films, I’ll wait and see, and I’ll form my own opinion on it.
