That was still 15-16 years ago... I'm guessing the Bootleggers are reverse engineering the ones HasTakTom aren't gonna do, but will be big sellers.

I believe the Omega Supreme mold is from the same source as Sky Lynx, so there's a distinct possibility there, for the same reason Sky Lynx is being made (mold presumably now available, character prominently on the show, but not originally available in the TF line in Japan ... I think)

Dunno about Shockwave - that was from ToyCo, as opposed to ToyBox, but since it was one of a very very very few non-Takara molds to actually be part of Takara's TF line, I sure wouldn't rule it out.

just wondering, do japanese collectors import a lot of stuff from hasbro like we buy from takara? and, how much does takara take the u.s. customers into consideration when releasing transformers? anyone know?

Classics is apparently pretty popular over there, mostly because they're not getting it like we are.

Think of how popular Car Robots was here before it was brought over as RID.

well i know we like their stuff, but how much does takara take that into consideration? we do have twice the population they do, but how much of their tf market do we make up? 5%, 10%, 20%, more?

    What i know is gone.

    RID X-Brawn
    RID Sideburn
    RID Prowl -
BW Basic Terrorsaur-Yet did repainted him as Swoop in Armada
    BW Basic Rattap
Armada Space Team -Yeah right they used them in Cybertron
G1 Suntreaker-Haven't herd of a reissue of them
G1 Springer-Only time they reissued him was in The "Classics" which was 91/92.
    G1 Gnaw-Never been reissued
G1 Thrust-No reissue of him yet only Dirge
    G1 Ramjet
Armada Jetfire-Like i seen with Space Minicons yeah right.

I hope they reverse Engineer RID Car Brothers they were a big part of RID for 2011.

Energon Arcee will probably the next lost mold they been used 11 times more than the Car Brothers.

Thrust and Ramjet are still in existence- both were reissued in 2001 by Takara, albeit as exclusives.

Hasbro had a Ramjet reissue planned for Commemorative Series X.

Its easy to believe that many molds were stolen, explaining all the KO's.

I'm hoping they find it profitable to reverse engineer the car bros for a reissue down the line (RID 10th/20th anniversary, maybe?)... They're worth buying a second time, and I know at least one of my friends would buy a set...

I don't really have much to add here, but if the Hasbro reissue is any indication, the Laserbeak/Buzzsaw mold may have some trouble in the future, as it does't fit perfectly together (I don't think this is a problem on the Encore, so it might be a reverse of the Jazz hood situation).

People rarely pay attention to mold availability outside of G1 for obvious reasons, but I do pay attention to any BW tidbits I see. The search for the Timelines Buzzclaw/Dirge/Clone molds mentioned that Insecticon, Powerpinch, and (VERY sadly for me) Scarem were not available. I think Manterror was still available but too pricey for the convention's needs. You probably have that part memorized or stored in some massive useless TF facts database, Nevermore. :)

Autovolt... what are you talking about? Just because we haven't seen a reissue of a G1 Transformer does not mean the mold is missing. Why choose Springer and Gnaw out of the hundreds of non reissued molds?

Pretty sure the Minicon Space Team is no longer available because (like the Car Bros) the mold has worn out.

No they didnt. - EDIT: yes, they were. sorry. forgot about the minicon 2-packs. I avoided them.

was reissued in japan alongside thundercracker, skywarp, dirge, and ramjet.

was going to be in the hasbro reissue line, and even got to the test shot stage.

    uh?
lets see, the RiD car brothers were used: as normal and super versions, with clear versions in car robots. twice in RiD, as normal and super versions. all were used again in universe. speedbreaker's (can't remember US name) mold was used twice more as OTFCC exclusive shadow striker and roulette.

the molds started degrading with the RiD super versions. they're too complicated, and too detailed to see such heavy use.

energon arcee was used once in energon, once in superlink. twice more for botcon. one more for the target movie line, and one more time for the universe re-release. that is not eleven. and that mold hasnt started degrading yet. the movie version's detail is as sharp as it ever was.

seriously. they've only re-issed about five percent of the G1 molds. it'd be damn near impossible for them to reissue them all. some characters are never going to be reissued. that doesnt mean their molds are gone.

That part aside, it was apparently the last gasp for the mold. And... perhaps part of the reason that wave is so ridiculously rare compared to the previous three?

Valk, you missed that Arcee was used three times by Botcon, not twice. Flareup, Chromia, and Flamewar.

If it takes a while to secure resources for reverse engineering I'm hoping TakTomy is looking into doing some of the ones that always pop up in threads like these. *cough*Wheeljacksunstreaker*cough* Oh, and by the way, go ahead an pump out Browning, too.

Well for the space team there was
    Micron Legend
    Armada
    X Dimension
    Packaged with E UM
    TFCC Astrotrain
    Cyb

Then did they see another release when Korea released Armada? And more importantly, did I miss any?

Do FP have their own separate molds for the Botcons exclusive or they are merely a small production run done by from Hasbro using their original molds?

They weren't used with TFCC Astrotrain. The Giant Planet minicons were used instead. The original plan was to use the space team, but according to TFCC and/or Hasbro, the molds were worn out/unusable by that point.
