I just know a SDCC version of this will becoming out and it'll come with his sword. I'd like the spike fists but the way they fit into the feet, it'd be pretty tough to do without a full redesign.

All in all, I'm pretty excited about this guy. Wish he didn't have quite so many stickers but he's still cool looking, kibble and all.

 

This is a discount pickup for me only to be able to play with it. Too big for any display I have.

Although I'm probably going to buy this, there are, of course, some problems with it:

- It's too big. It would have been better to make Predaking the same size as Abominus and make the Dinobots the larger figures. This would be especially helpful for fans that wanted larger Dinobots and weren't planning on combining them.

- The leg kibble on Tantrum and Headstrong is awful. It could have been removable and used as a gun, or anything else.

- The beast modes appear to lack posability, and are almost as brickish as their original toy counterparts.

- No sword or spiked gauntlets.

It's the same problem with Devastator; It appears that concessions were made to make this thing as large as possible, when what (most?) fans REALLY wanted were products that were G1 styled, more poseable and the same scale as the other combiners.

 

I do wonder...if modded...could the combined modes legs...be removeable...???...

 

For everybody’s information, these photos are from the official wechat of Hasbro China taken by Notrab so don’t these these are actual “in-hand” pics or the release is anywhere close. And it was mentioned in the post that all the important joints are ratcheted.

I personally I’m loving this set. Like someone said earlier the engineering alone almost warrants a purchase.

 

Looks fun but at the same time, very cocerning. However, it has a lot of things i absolutely cannot lie, they're bad, like the big-ass thighs behind the limbs, or the absolute lack of sword.

Abominus it's still my #1 combiner from this line.

 

If only those thigh parts on the backs of Headstrong and Tantrum could come off completely and form some extra weapons.

Fair point, but the Constructicons at least don’t look like cheap upscales of their G1 toys. I can actually take them seriously individually.

Well, now that I've seen the beast modes I'm gonna have to pass on this set. I was really looking forward to this one but damn!   They're not even trying anymore.

Is Divebomb's bird mode some kind of April Fool's joke?
