In case you are referring to Optimus Primal...the normal mode, no he does not turn into gorilla in this one, but a space shuttle Looking forward to getting OpOp. What is the release timeframe for the Hasbro version? It should be earlier than Takara's right?
Looks like any old random Cybertronian freighter shuttle thing. He was supposed to be a scientist in the show.
THAT TOO! Thank you. Yes. Where have you been? ...Where have you been also? It's been known for a while now that the Deluxe Optimus Primal doesn't have an Ape Mode, just a surfboard for Optimal Optimus to ride to mimic the Transmetal Optimus Primal surfboard gimmick, that Hasbro is also playing off as "Optimus Primal's Cybertronian form".
Yes. White Knights defend based on moral cause. Apologist "justify" "reasons" for the positions of higher institutions. Since the labels of "white knights" and "apologists" are assigned by the opposition the labels may or may not be accurate. i.e. a really bad exchange Bandit : I'm going to kidnap you fair maiden. Gray Knight : Hey, watch where you are going? Get out of my way. Bandit : Why are you in my business White Knight? Gray Knight : White Knight? I don't care about your business. Just let me pass. Bandit : Help!!!! The White Knight is attacking me! *coming over the hilltop 1 mile away* White Knight : Wicked Knight? That innocent commoner is being attacked by that Black Knight for trying to defend that maiden's honor. Attack!!! . . . Gray Knight : I hate you all.
The figure overall seems like it has "good bones". $10 says Perfect Effect is going to make a new Primal, ala Ginrai, as an upgrade.
I'm liking everything about the POTP Optimal Optimus Primal Prime, a definite improvement over the original BW toy. Many people complain about minor details but that could be easily explained away once the POTP series airs
Although that could be true, the term "apologist" is reserved for those defending established status quo, whereas "white Knight" usually refers to those either defending minority views or attacking them, IMO.
A nice set oc comparison photos but your point is? I said I prefer the original in certain respects...ergo I prefer the POTP mould in others. I just don't think they've done enough for me to want one. Saying that if I happen to him in a toy shop I might feel compelled to pick him up just because of what Beast Wars means to me.
I think some people are remembering it better than it was, given the previous mold is heavier probably has more ratchets, wheels and lights, but this new mold is better proportioned and Primal's box mode is basically accurate to the giant gun on the back of the original Optimal Optimus. That was what I was referring to. I've heard the same complaint about the backpack, but it's clearly in the original.
Maybe they are, I however am not so maybe you shouldn't assume so and quote me to make your point? It is... on the original figure it looks like a jetpack/powerpack/turret for the cannons. To me POTP OP OP looks like he is giving Primal a piggy back. Season 1 primal is just folded up with no attempt to hide him and jammed in there, like some kid has taken one toy and made it fit on another toy regardless of how awkward and out of place it looks. Also if we are going to nit pick I 'prefer' the originals 'jet' mode and the fact he had a 'transport' mode, as lazy as they might be POTP's jet mode seems even lazier and his transport mode appears non-existent, instead we get a boxy and IMO ugly season 1 primal with the least fun, least exciting alt-mode I've ever seen. What do I prefer about POTP OP OP is his combined robot mode and gorilla mode but not by a lot. The only truly 100% positive thing he has in his favour is no vac-metal.
Only part I can’t get with is the unpainted chinstrap and the “Jet mode”. But I can’t blame this toy for it since it’s accuate to the original. I think this’ll look pretty badass in robot mode on the shelf, so it’s a win for me
I too am happy for am update to this figure. Ilove the new optimal otimus mold. It does have its faults. I am REALLY thinking about pre-ordering the Japanese version of something. I didnt notice the thumb gun or the face thing untill you said this. I like that they combined different features from them. Makes for an new interesting figure. It does have its problems. I mean why does the orange gorilla need a flying surf board when he can turn into a "plane"? blasphemy. I will continue to get more as long as i like and can afford them.
This promotional image shows a cybertronian Primal. I imagine before he came to earth (ignoring the botcon figure) he turned into a small shuttle. The Optimal suit is his "trailer" thus like POTP Rodimus and Optimus he gets a larger extended vehicle mode with the "trailer." But his trailer is tainted by his selected mode for earth and thus gets a gorrila mode, I think it fits nicely. Man, I've never been a fan of the split faceplate, but this figure is looking excellent. Truely hoping for Primal Prime with faceplate.
i didnt see it. Had to go back to find it. So what is it a tail of? Ideas? They are so similar . I wish they would do more updated version of bw quickstrike and bw megatron. That would be so cool.
Does it? It looks nothing like the figure, it's too rounded and several parts are different in colour/design, it doesn't have the backpack, he appears to have two fins or swords on his back? Sure there's no suggestion of the gorilla alt-mode which is why I wasn't surprised (just disappointed) by his alt-mode but the image is just a stylised season 1 Primal. I must admit though, the more I look at TT's images the more attractive the figure is looking. They do seem to do a better job of showcasing a figure and photographing it to emphasis it's strengths than Hasbro do.
