So i had to call customer service over a Roadtrap with wrong pieces. They said they will be sending a size class replacement but could not guarantee it would be Roadtrap. What have your experiences been with Hasbro Customer service? How long did replacement take for you? Etc.
You're better off watching your local stores for a replacement, buying it, then returning the broken one later.
that to me is terrible. they will replace a figure for you but wont guarantee you the figure you wanted. thats just bad business to me. i am getting to the point where i buy more 3rd party stuff lately because of things like this. 3rd party companies rely on making customers happy to stay in the green because they are small. i have been in retail for over 20 years and would never do things like i have been seeing in retail lately.
Sounds like you were transfered to the corporate side. I had to fight that and get assistance from the site help itself. Because despite being in stock on HTS, the corporate guy didn't have any SS bee in his inventory to send me.
I’ve contacted Hasbro’s customer service two or three times, all with that same response. I think that only one of those times did I choose to actually send them the figure and sure enough they sent a completely different one that I didn’t really want. I seem to recall it took long enough to arrive that I had forgotten all about it by the time the replacement figure showed up. In fact, one of the times I contacted them was simply to notify them that RiD Super Sideburn (or whatever he was called) had serious paint flaking issues. I thought I’d let them know since it could be a hazard for kids. They assumed I wanted a replacement and sent back their stock answer despite my not even asking for a replacement figure. The advice @BenjaminXavier gave is what I’d recommend too, and what I ended up doing myself. Buy a replacement somewhere yourself and either return the defective one to the place you bought it or send it back to Hasbro for a random figure. Don’t count on Hasbro for an exact replacement.
I got hassled for suggesting I should do this with my studio series bumblebee. Saying I was basically stealing from the store and it was hasbros problem and I needed to exchange with them.
Are you saying you were hassled for suggesting that you return the defective item to the retailer from which it was purchased and getting a refund?
HTS did accept my return and by the time they got it, bee was out of stock so they issued me a refund. I'm still sitting on a spare octone that I can't decide what to do with. I debate about opening it and taking the weapons and transplanting the wings onto voyager Prime.
Ah, I see. Yeah, I wouldn’t suggest doing that. I’d return the defective one to HTS (like you did) and buy a replacement anywhere I could find one.
I had a great experience. I bought a TR tripticon from toysrus and it was missing full tilt. I emailed them and after a bit of back and forth they said they would mail me a new one and after I got it which took no time at all I mailed the first one back and they paid the postage. Easy
