Anyone know if Toys R Us in Douglasville 1. Is still open and 2. Has the Marvel Legends Star Lord Helmet?

I need to make my own last trip for nostalgia sake soon. I hope to find something worth buying as a memento for the “last purchase”. Wish GIJoes were still in production because that’s where most of my childhood TRU memories come from.

 

So have the GA TRU's started their discount sales yet?

 

Only the Fayetteville store. Action figures were 40% off yesterday. All they had was the last Knight Cybertron repaint of repaint of Primus for $89.99. I almost picked it up but then good sense told me better. They had some Lego too but most are excluded.

 

I wonder if the McDonough store is one of the 200 that might be getting bought and won't be doing discounts?

 

I'll keep you pposted for when/ever the Savannah one starts sales, bear in mind I still only check it out on Wednesdays and Fridays.

 

Well this thread looks like vultures circling. (I kid) I thought I would brighten it up by informing y’all that Hartwell Walmart put out a fresh case of power of the primes deluxe wave 2. I picked up one each of the dinobots and ripper snapper.

Also I was at the Kroger on 29 next Athens Tech Saturday and that they tags out for studio series toys, so be on the look out for those here soon.

 

If anybody sees the cyber battalion shockwave at a Walgreens I’m looking for that one! Double karma points if you find one for me!

 

Athens was pretty barren today. The Lexington Ave Walmart had zero, as in not a single Transformer, I mean there wasn’t even a sticker on the shelves nor pegs. They did have the diecast voltron lions clearanced to $11 though.

 

Nothing new at the Walgreens in Keith Bridge Road. They still have two Jetfifre battalion figures. They had an Optimus last time I was there.

 

Yes they have transformers. They are going through renovations and there is another toy section in the garden area. Transformers are there.

 

Found POTP wave 2 Prime Masters at Kroger in Richmond Hill, GA. $6.99/ea. Wave 1 was there too. Otherwise Wave 1 and Wave 2 leaders have all but disappeared locally (Savannah, Richmond Hill, and Hinesville). Voyager Starscream seems to be a shelf warmer.

 

TRU liquidation sales to start tomorrow. Evidently KB is making a bid to fill the void.
MoG store looks like nothing has been restocked in a while. Wonder if they get credit for unopened stock from vendors if returned?

I just walked into the TRU down at North Point and they told me the stores canceled the liquidation sales. Huh. Maybe somethings finally going on with the whole shibang?

Never mind, they’re postponing it for tomorrow.

 

Was just at the TRU in Duluth. They had it posted that the sale has not started for them just yet. Starting date TBA.

Regarding TFs, there was hardly anything there.

 

Apologies if anyone went out of their way, but that news had just come out on multiple news outlets last night before I posted here.
Then, this morning, various sources posted about it being delayed, and TRU putting up notices like you guys saw at stores. I also noticed late last night that various sources claimed 1) Amazon is may be making a bid for TRU, but for the real estate (brick and mortar) more than for the Toy seller aspect, and also 2) KB toys is making a push to acquire some/all of the stock if this liquidation goes through, and is looking at partnering with holiday pop-up vendors, Party City, etc. Again, this is just what I'm seeing on news/business outlets, I have no idea how speculative any of it is, but the quotes from the KB guy were pretty definitive.
Now, I'll just shut my trap and see how it all works out.

Barrett Pky was good to me though. Found a lone Studio Series Thundercracker (full price sadly) and Target had the entire set of Wave 2 Deluxes.
