If Chevy did indeed allow Hasbro to produce a licensed Transformer for them, then why not make an Alt? I realize now that this isn't one, but I guess it's just the Alt-fan in me. Still, this is one " " mold! Like everyone's said, looks like a retooled Swindle. If it is, then they changed nearly everything! More than likely this is going to be coming out to the masses in some shape or form. I doubt that Hasbro would have created a new mold and limit it to only 2,000.
Chevy has already allowed Hasbro to produce licensed Alternators Transformer for them. Alternators cost alot more to engineer tho which is why the line has ceased. My guess also is along the lines that we will see this come out as a Classics 2/Universe or Movie release in a different color or something.

Btw, its also not a retool of Swindle... given that every part is different and he even transforms differently.
I don't mind missing this thing at all. and hey, we finally have a winner for the "rarest transformer" topic. most people that get this arent actually gonna want it, and probably throw it away. and it's price is essentially that of the car...
Deffinately not an alt. I don't like the legs or the head and HATE the alternate mode. If they had chosen a different car maybe, but I don't need a new car anyways so I won't be getting him either way.
That looks awesome! All of you saying he is a re-tooled movie swindle obviously never bought the figure. This guy is TOTALLY different. Only things similar are the color and the way the doors sit on the arms.
Ahh, Transformers, what has become of you? You once turned into vehicles like the Lamborghini Countach, the Lancia Stratos, and the Porsche 935. Now look at you.... you turn into an Aveo. Just kidding. Sort of. It's not a bad looking little mold, but it is nothing special. Certainly not worth buying a [crappy] car for. The head reminds me of the mass-production Evas in Evangelion. Didn't Mazda do something similar to this, but with Binaltech Red Meister (or "Zoom Zoom," if you prefer)? Of course, he wasn't limited ONLY to folks buying the cars. And I have a feeling that some version/repaint/retool of this figure will eventually find its way on to a store shelf. If it doesn't.... no big loss.
