Are people really complaining about this? For $5, you're getting an articulated transforming figure. People buy a $4.99 Starbucks drink every day and no one bats an eye.

"Pretty much have"....Robot Damashii figures used to go for around 2800yen back in the day. Now a regular release like an RX782 goes for 5000yen. A nearly double increase is not a price that pretty much has stayed static.

Friends that work in the industry. You come into this thread with an antagonistic tone ready to fight and THAT is all you can come up with? Judging by what you've posted I would've thought you would've schooled everyone by now by informing all of us how we are wrong.

Then again, I can objectively say your record in the GCI thread doesn't exactly reflect a track record of accuracy. I have met designers, brand managers, et al that have worked in this industry. I'm not going to bother asking them to chime in about why a $6 line is showing up in cheaper stores and why we should expect $6 to get us something on the level of similarly priced Transformers from 25 years ago.

That ship sailed 25 years ago.

For sake of comparison yes you're right and drinks went up exponentially from 2007-2017 for Starbucks. By last year you were paying $6+ for a venti frappuccino. Not the case in 2007. Even regular coffee had gone up, moreso with handcrafted drinks.

It has not been a common trend for prices to come down at retail, aside from promotional sales. Prices have usually gone up.

You mean the thread where people kept complaining about the custom items they received or didn't receive or got the run around after people defended him when those were the things I was saying was happening? I wonder how inaccurate I was since everything I said happened. #WheresGulper

Additionally, yes I do know people and they know more than you and I've refuted your arm chair bullshit. Sorry, I'm going to go with things people tell me who actively work in the industry and actually deal with the the materials and design and cost of items.

And when is "Back in the day?" Let's get a time frame of reference and then we can fully compare. Because if you look at what we got then vs now there is a lot of extra detailing, paint, molding, and effect parts in RDs released now and the price has not increased that much over the past five years. But regardless if it is a little higher, you are objectively getting more.

Have you seen Optimus and Bumblebee? There's more articulation in the shampoo style non transforming Transformers Hasbro put out years ago than these things.

Oh come on, it's cheaper than a Legion class with comparable articulation and size. You don't need to make a big deal out of this.

It's a pattern of behavior. Hasbro and other companies are much like the games industy. If you give them an inch, they'll take the whole damn thing. I can be critical about companies and franchises I love. I can say when they are objectively doing something bad, and with quality slipping with the Power of the Primes line, and these things, I am well within the rights of criticizing what they do and have done.

This Prime is better than Legends Optimus Prime from a few years back. Mostly because I wasn't a fan of that IDW version of Prime.

Your friends in the industry need to teach you that Transformers are'nt sacred and inflation is real.
Everything's gone up, even toliet paper, and especially the cost of plastic.

I don't think your 'friends' would appreciate you using their names to give out poor information lol

So if you have friends who are in bands ,does that autimatically make you a musical guru?

I'm sorry. Who am I supposed to believe here? Someone doing armchair speculating with the only knowledge at their disposal being that of people who do no research, or people who are actually involved in the industry and know what they are talking about? Let me guess, you're a fake news and alternative facts type of guy, huh?

I talked about the model kits which aimed both at kids and adult with the last two shows as Gundam build fighters and Gundam build fighters try have kids as their main target.

Hm. I've been hitting Family Dollars myself and keep running into pegs still full with Starscream and Bumblebee Legends re-runs from a few years ago.

Thanks for the info! I think I can hit three Family Dollars and a Dollar General (that I haven't been to) on the way to work. Hopefully this will yield something.

I believe they're the same company. I also haven't seen them at DG, but they were at the first FD I went to.

Me too. I think they have to sell through the stock they have before they order the new stuff as it MIGHT share a common SKU in the system. And with the Family Dollar across the street from my work sitting on about 10 Starscreams and BBs, it'll be a awhile before I see them here.
