@Optimus423 I'm not actually sure who you are, as I've known a few TRU employees who said they frequented these boards but never actually got names to tie to accounts, but we're here to support you in this terrible time... and honestly, having you here will help keep us grounded. It's easy for us to get grumpy about how bad this is for us as collectors - but it's got to be worse for you, and it's something we've all got to keep in mind.
Just found studio voyagers at meijer on central in toledo, gone now. meijer in maumee has wave one rodimus, no studio as of last night
I am one of the board members that at least used to work at TRU. I worked at the reynolds rd location in Toledo. Still have friends that work there. Sad as hell to see them lose their jobs.
Rossford meijer had all of wave 1 power of the primes and 1 set of duocons. The duocons left with me.
I think it’s a sad time for toys. I don’t think people will understand the impact this will have on you sales in general. Sorry for those who are losing their work as well.
Gone as in u left the store or their all bought? Either way can someone pick me up a studio series optimus? I'll pay for it, plus shipping, plus gas/trouble
Thank you, I appreciate it, we’ll all miss it. The next few months are going to be interesting. I appreciate it, thank you.
The weird part is ever since the initial rumors came out last week, our sales have at least tripled since. We’ve been as busy as we were before Christmas, it’s strange.
I was at a Toys r is Saturday and it was packed. There is a market there I just think sadly the ones who ran the the business from the hq are the ones who pretty much ran it to bankruptcy
First and foremost, I'm sorry for what you're going through and I really hope you are able to stay afloat and move on to bigger and better things in the very near future. As for the uptick in store traffic, is it due to markdowns, or do you think it's just a sudden rise in interest due to the publicity?
Just a heads up, Target has 25% off TFs online if you use your Redcard. Looking at getting Victorion finally, seeing as she'd be $76 or so shipped.
You’re absolutely right. When the company was bought out in 2005, that’s when it started heading south. Toys ‘R’ Us Files to Shut Down Its U.S. Operations This link pretty much explains it. Thank you for the well wishes, I have at least another 60 days until my job is done. Regarding the second half, it’s publicity for sure, the inventory liquidation sales haven’t started yet. We honestly don’t know when that will begin. In regards to sightings, our DC in Maryland is still ripe with inventory so stores will still receive product for the time being until the DC is wiped out. As of last week, none of the Studio Series product has arrived at our DC.
Walmarts by the Dayton Mall has very few Battleslash and roadtrap left. I saw 3 or 4 Seasprays and the rest is some deluxe and voyager TLK Transformer stuff and not much else. Toy isle was very bare I feel. I thought the TF studio series was a HTS online only? and my next questions the redeco of Nitro Zeus into the T/cracker for the TF Studio series that only TRU exclusive only, how does that get handled as weill as the TR Arcee? And if anyone sees POTP Grimmy at Target, hide him or give me a yell, I have a gift card to burn there.
Oregon Meijer has one Studio Series Optimus Prime voyager; the evil Studio Series Starscream came home with me.
The first wave of the Studio Series deluxe got an exclusive early release last month to Hasbro. After April 2nd, they should be available to other mass retailers in store and online. Regarding Thundercracker, I'm not sure what will become of it. Product was definitely made and a few have already seen shelves on the West Coast. I thought Titans Return Arcee and (Grotesque?) were exclusively TRU online and have run their course. I could be totally wrong on the EX Titans figures.
Arcee and Grotesque are still available st TRU.com. thats wjy i ask if thr remaining stock would be sold off including TF studio series Tcracker
My brother (who is a filthy NECA figure collector and therefore not part of this board) was at the TRU in Kenwood and he reports that they are telling people clearance sales begin on the 21st. Dunno if it's going to be store-by-store or that's for everybody, or if his love of overpriced action figures that DON'T transform into other things has warped his perception of reality, so take this info with the grain of salt implied.
