*pulls herself from Overwatch and real life to clean this thread and hope it's not zombified yet* I hope someone still reads this...

Long story short: Been playing a lot of Overwatch, reading a lot of manga, was let go from my full time job two weeks ago, making appointments to help find a new full time job, mom got a new car and gave me her old one, trying to get some creativity back and get back to working on this comic.

I hope I'm not too late to keep this comic alive, or that the rules for the comics haven't changed so much. As was stated in the comic, I've been working two jobs and thought I'd update again. I've been working full-time at Wal-Mart for nearly three months now and started keeping a diary about some of the things I see, suspicious or interesting, two months after I was hired. My work schedule currently consists of five days of Wal-Mart and one day of Sunshine a week unless if I request vacation days for family and appointments of any kind. It helps with getting food and paying my parents rent and student loans until I get my wisdom teeth removed and go back to school, but until then, I'm working my butt off.

I've still been collecting as many interesting Funko Pops I've been finding locally and just got the Hanzo and Genji Nendroids recently (pretty much yesterday before work at Sunshine); the Transformers toys that interest me have dwindled a bit, but I still get some. I've also been trying to get back into drawing, writing, and reading actual books when I get done with a manga series and have to wait for the next book or find another series to read.

I've been doing so much that I almost forgot about the comic, but hopefully I can put more effort into it again. So until I can update again, hopefully!

Though I never seen Ready Player One, well it makes me want to buy The Iron Giant DVD, cause he's in that movie.

ehh, it would've been better if the producers could get the rights to use Ultraman in it...although, since they got to use a HQ CGI version of MechaGodzilla Mk. 1, they could've just went and used a HQ version of the Godzilla suit used in those movies against it

To get everyone caught up: I finally got my wisdom teeth surgically removed in October, and I didn't need the extra strength prescription pain killer to nurse my sockets pain; still working my butt off at Wal-Mart and am now focusing on getting an apartment of my own; helped my brother move into an apartment of his own; had to juggle Thanksgiving, my birthday and Christmas; and one of my classmates passed away near two weeks ago.

I'm also at a rut where I'm debating whether to keep going with the comic or just let it become a closed thread since I'm not visiting this site as often as I used to back in high school. To be honest, I need some feedback on if I should keep going or if I should stop. And I hope that I didn't make my comic a zombie comic anyway.

If you still have the spark to do so then sure you could always ask for advice. I mean sometimes we need a break every now and then to help us get the motivation back. Also sorry to hear about your classmate too. That stinks. :(

If you want to keep going with the comic, keep going. If you don't, don't. If you wanna make a new thread, make a new thread. If you don't, don't. This is entirely your choice, as is the hiatus is. Do what you want, old friend.

Whatever makes you happy, it’s no fun reading a comic if the creator isn’t having fun making it. That’s what makes these things special. Sounds like life has been rough, there’s no shame in taking a break for as long as you need. If making comics is something of an outlet, feel free to keep at them. Your readers support you and care about your well-being first and foremost.

That latest comic resonated with me so much. SO. FREAKING. MUCH. :lol

As someone that absolutely understands being in a rut and life just being, well, life, this is my take on things for me, and maybe you can look at it and help figure out what you want to do.

I used to be a lot more active with my comic, that’s just a fact. I’d update twice a day regularly even. I had multiple comics running at once. Then a certain life event happened, and things slowly went downhill. That energy I had just began to disappear. Updates slowed down to where I am lucky to even finish an ‘episode’ worth of updates within a reasonable timeframe.

Back in October though I realized my comic was going to be 10 years old soon. And that realization relit something in me. I came up with a massive 10th Anniversary comic idea, that I absolutely loved, poking fun at things like plot points or my own capabilities or lack thereof with making the comic, and I had an absolute blast making it. And actually having it ready in time for the 10th anniversary day made me happy. And honestly actually ready to properly resume making the comic regularly.

But then two things happened. One, despite all that time and effort, and my own satisfaction with the special comic, I got no comments on it. I got several likes on the post, so I knew people saw it, but no one actually said anything about it. So it was a bit of a damper on my mood, but I pressed forward with the next actual update of the comic. And that was the second thing. That one got no likes, but it did get two comments. Comments that just said ‘I have no idea who this character is.’ It was a recurring villain from near the start of the comic, and was even named in the Peanut Gallery panel. This was honestly, the first ever time I actually considered just ending the comic. I have a total of 36 Readers as characters in the comic right now. Of that, I’d say maybe 1/3 are not here anymore. Of the remaining 2/3, I couldn’t say more than like half a dozen or so of that are even looking at my thread anymore.

Despite all that though, I honestly can say I don’t want to quit. Yes I am in a rut and life has been fun, and I don’t currently feel like working on it, but after 10 years of working on it, I don’t want to just give it up. I have a completed storyline, I just need to make the physical updates for the comic. And I WANT to be able to say I finished it. But wanting and doing are two very different things of course.

So long story short, you just need to think about what YOU want to do. Above is just my own thoughts on my standing with my comic, but maybe something there can help you figure things out with yours. Perhaps a review comic would be a good thing, cause like it was for me, it can help revive things in your own mind with regards to making the comic because not only does it give your Readers a ‘refresher’ of sorts, it also lets you look back on your own work and just relive it. Ultimately it is up to you though. Hopefully this was helpful somehow. :)

I'm sorry for your troubles and your losses. I think the people here are giving good advice. If you don't have the time or the drive, you should absolutely take a break and get back to it when you're ready. If you do have the desire to keep making a comic, then I guess your comic's Shadow Raider has good advice. Just as long as you're happy and you enjoy what you're doing.

Super late to the party here, but as someone who is only just now coming back after a five year hiatus due to plenty of life and health issues, I felt obliged to drop a word in myself. I agree with everyone else here that you should focus on what you need to do and what makes you happiest. If you make more comics, we're around. In my experience the Funnies community is really tight and supportive, and you've built a good reader base who all care about you. So you focus on you, and if and when you want to come back, we're here. I know I'm a new to your comic but even so you have my support as well.

Keep at it, don't let life get the better of you!

I hear yah, AP 101......I too juggle apartment stuff (rent, food, laundry, etc), work (as a Full Time CAP 2 Team Stocker, so I work 40 Hours a week for Walmart ) and what little free time for either laundry, food, or relaxing.....barely any time for a social life.....if I did have the ability/ know how for photo comics, my update schedule would be sporadic too.....right now I would have ideas and use my collection to act my ideas out, though nowhere near as epic as some of the other photo comics out there......

    Okay, life update!

I've moved into my own apartment and have been living in it for over three months now, the shock of reality hit me hard when my concerns had to focus more on the bills and groceries, and I've been trying to spend more time with family since the move, but I'm still kicking. I've also switched from door greeter to cashier at Wal-Mart, so I've also gotten some stress from there too, but at least it's better than people yelling at me for checking all unbagged items when they want to leave, especially since the People Greeter position changed to Asset Protection Customer Host (aka Wal-Mart upped security to that of Sam's Club over here). I still get people who get mad at me for doing things a certain way or if I can't help them at the Self-Checkout Belts, but I'm doing fine overall. Hopefully, I'll get the comic updated in terms of photo transfers from Photobucket to Imgur if I can remember to do that, and get a small comic in when or if I can.
