\"Except Starscream wasn\'t exactly hard to find, for the most part. Anything that is \"limited\" to Walmart isn\'t exactly limited. 2 out of the 4 Walmart Supercenters in my area (back then) had a few Starscreams up to Christmas Eve that year.\"

And yet, here in metro Phoenix, my brother and I could not find them anywhere.

They would need to expand, in jersey where I'm at outside of nyc the nearest TG is an hour away.

This does suck, I remember when Transformers Animated toys were out, I was at TRU and couldn’t find Arcee. I don’t know if it was someone from Hasbro or a high level executive of TRU but he asked me what I was looking for, I said Arcee and he went to the back and brought back a box of figures and handed me the only Arcee in the box. I thought that was awesome.

I think the closings represent a bigger issue than we understand right now.

I think if I were Hasbro Mattel and Lego I would band together and buy the toysrus Brand and have some of the stores stay open.

Wow somebody mentioned Marvel Legends.. I'm a collector of that line too. And it's getting toll on me lately due to the Infinity War film promotions along with Black Panther. Yeah exclusive-wise every store have their own exclusives.

Walmarts, Targets. TRU have much of those. But I didn't expect Wallgreens jumping to the ML craze. Heck they've got Agent Venom and Big Pants Namor. I heard the latest ML Thanos is a Walmart exclusive.. But thank god. ML Thanos is flooding here in the Philippines like around $27 USD (by direct conversion). Along with the 2-Pack MCU Scarlet Witch-Vision & 3-Pack MCU Thor-Rocket-Groot will be available around next week (around leader class prices).

I'll expect Wallgreens having their own Transformers Exclusive figure after TRU U.S.A. closes.
I mean somebody have to pick up the stuffs. And maybe other stuff will be available online.
TRU shops will close but I hope the online shop will still be present.

As a brand I hope TRU doesn't die instantly. Like TRU outside US i think it's just doing fine.
TRU here in Philippines is alive and kicking. Maybe TRU USA needs sort of a transformation and remain in the eyes of American consumers.
How about be an online shop competing with other toy shop websites. Man, TRU in USA can't just die right? They can be small but still publicly relevant. Too bad they didn't "evolve".

Reports were that some/most of the stores, including the Savannah one I go to, were staying open at least for the time being, and I haven't seen any sales (I was just there today), although I didn't look hard. At the very least, I'd have expected them to wind things down a lot more slowly. Or are they going through restructuring stuff?

Oh trust me Wal-Mart is almost just as bad but slightly less around me. At least one Wal-Mart near me now has some Power of the Prime figures. Not a lot but some. On the other hand some Toys R Us and Wal-Marts literally only have RID2015 stuff which I bought 0 figures of

Their debt since their buyout from over a decade ago was increased to 82% of their capital and at the time were only making a 2% profit. Info from here:
Toys R Us - How Bad Assumptions Fed Bad Financial Planning Creating Failure

It's easier to understand after reading that. They weren't in a condition to expand their online presence nor even attempt to take on other retailers, due to the added debt.
They don't have the cashflow to establish a big online presence, haven't since their buyout. If they didn't back then, they aren't any closer now.

Walgreens has a retail buyer who is a collector himself and has already procured 2 Transformers exclusives at Walgreens(Brainstorm and a Clone 2 pack) in addition to exclusives from other lines and manufacturers.

We find out this Monday as TRU goes back to court where they are expected to announce what they are planning to do (which may include shuttering all US stores). This was a recent development that was announced yesterday.

So...what's gonna happen to Studio Series Thunderscracker?
    Wrong thread buddy.
Pretty sure Hasbro is still making Titan figures, they said somewhere the vote for the TR Titan was mainly giving them an idea of the order those release those guys in the vote.
IDK, I don't live there, so this joke has flown over my head...
That's just crazy enough it just might work!

Um, what? No. Gamestop makes most of their money in used games. The ThinkGeek stores are a novelty that make money, but there are only a handful of them.

People just asking when the sales will start are perfectly emblematic of the issues facing the toy industry.

The toy companies should help small businesses get up and running by offering them TRU wholesale prices up front, which could in turn reinvigorate the market. Would be cool for small local toy shops to become relevant again.
