His valk-reviews seems mostly the bigger DX-Chogokins, 1/60v2's and 1/55's.

 

Oh, thank goodness. Someone bought that 1/48 VF-1A Low Vis and solved my dliemma for me...

Stupid ebay and their 20% off deal. Just blew $$$ on a 1/60 VF-1J with GBP. Dammit, got some 'splaining to do with the wife tonight...

I ended up using the 20% off coupon on a Hi Metal R Fokker VF-1S. Came to $175 shipped, which was much better than the $230 or so I thought it was going to cost me.

Whoa, those HMR valks went up in price. An opened Arcadia Fokker VF-1S for 21600 Y, which I think isn't far off its MSRP:

Quite tempting since now I want a VF-1S to go with the rest of my Hikaru, Max and Millia...must save it for when I get to Japan in a few weeks.

 

I have not seen any of the Arcadia valks that are at a discount lately as I got the Arcadia DRYL at 17,280 Yen (Grade B) from Jungle back in October/November while the price is close to 22,000 Yen (Sealed).

 

The Arcadia resale valk market for the latest four releases does not seem to be all that soft. They appear to hang around at MSRP unless you're looking at one that's been really beaten up on.

 

I also checked on fromjapan a couple of days ago. Some of the DX and the Arcadia valks are stupidly absurd as one listing for the VF-171EX Maurunama (sp?) is asking 34,000 Yen awhile back (isn't the VF-31J Kai asking for the roughly the same amount?). So this is becoming a "Holy Grail" of Macross valks for us collectors..

Not really.

Both Ami and Amzn.jp has Milia 1/60v2 for around 18k-yen new right now.

They (and others) had it for 16k-yen and under just last week. Around 12k-yen from HobbySearch just a couple of weeks ago, even.

Of course, the previous ones (1S, 0S/A, etc) are up just coz they've been out of stock for a while now and only the second-hand shops and scalpers still have 'em to sell.

Max-1J's been in a strange short supply status, tho. Backordered in some shops right now.

 

@Slave IV: I'm not too far behind you in getting a 1/48 valk.

@treatment: The funny thing is that his is wife's valk are at discount on some sites. Looks like Max is becoming the hot ticket item that's available in the 1/60 scale as of now.  

 

Yeah, I really like the 1/48 Yamato Valks. I want one or maybe 2 more and I think I'll be satisfied with my 1/48 collection.

Seems like the M&M phenomenon happens everytime they get released. Slow sales and even discounts at first, especially for Milia and then when supply dries up, they become coveted grails at insane markups. That actually happens with a lot of Macross products in general.

 

I squeezed on Max from Hobbysearch. Miria was on sale, but I don't plan on seeing Max on sale before I pick him up. I've been through the Arcadia song and dance before with their utter lack of re-issues. (Mumbles something about how much GBP costs these days.)

 

You can look forward to a PF version that costs as much as the current aftermarket prices.
