It looks like the artwork on the two latest cards, 15/16E and 39, is by a new artist: Yasukuni Kazumasa

Been going through this twitter, he looks like a really good artist and also a long-time MP fan! Some of his shots would fit right in here in the apprecation thread

He also did a cool sketch of MP-27:

Would personally love character art like that!

He also did the artwork for a few LG releases:

They look quite a bit better than the earlier cards:

I look forward to seeing what else he brings to future card artwork.

I have seen that Ironhide drawing before! Cool to see he is passionate about the MP line, so we can be sure he will put a lot of love and care in future card designs.

I agree with you that Kazumasa's drawings are an improvement of the previous cards. I still like them way better than the older designs though: it's way cooler to those action scenes than just some static poses. But for some reason Kazumasa's style is more appealing than the style of the previous artist (no idea who s/he is). I can't put my finger on exactly why, but something is a bit off on for example Track's design. He is a bit too blocky or something...

I just prefer consistency. I really like the action poster type cards, but I want the statistics/technical specification card, too. Would really like to see a set of cards that fills in the gaps from both ends.

Probably possible to custom-make those original style cards if you can just find all the sketches for the MPs - think most of them have appeared in Generations books here and there?

Otherwise it would also be awesome to hire some great artist to do sketches for the old ones.

Finally got around to transforming MP Sunstreaker. Absolutely fantastic looking bot mode! Transformation had a couple of scary spots, but overall not too bad. Can't wait to see what Takara has to offer in 2018!

    So...I collected my MP-40 today

When I first picked up the box, something felt off. Quality seemed different, if I may dare say, slightly inferior to the usual Masterpiece boxes.

Upon opening him, the first thing I noticed was how the Bio Card is different from the usual Masterpiece Bio Cards. Card stock used is different. A lot thicker. Print quality is inferior and it has a matte finishing instead of the usual gloss. I'm not sure if this is the new norm for the line or if this is just a matter of different print production. If it's the former, I must say I'm not impressed at all. Everything about the packaging to the Bio Card felt KO-ish...

I'm not particularly excited about the coins but I'm glad that the quality of this and the figure remains consistent.

Is this a good place to ask about the diecast soundwave? The little one that came with the reissue, seems really cool/cute but can't figure out where to get one in the UK or what it looks like in hand.

Yeah, I think so, especially since Hasbro Asia decided for a brief time to go with the small pewter figures instead of the coins.

Are you looking to buy or just curious? If you want to buy 25-30 is the going price on eBay.

    Here I found one:

RARE ! Transformers Soundwave Mini Pewter Metal Figurine - dated 2016 | eBay

    Go nuts :)

Sorry, been a while since I’ve visited this thread.

I purchased the MP-38 coin from the same seller, it arrived in a few days (but then again I’m also located here in China).

It was a weird phase, I wonder if they'll keep doing them?

Cheers, what I've seen generally is £10 + £20 for shipping, which is less than ideal...

You can find those on eBay for about 10. Just put on a saved search for it. That's what I did years ago to get my whole collection up to date.

No one is selling the damn thing. Especially when I lay a hundred bucks on the table and the other collectors just look at it with smugness. Sigh. :(
