I don't understand why you want something from the original cartoon just leave it by itself not in the films

Um, you do realize that every single transformers movie is a 2 hour ad you pay to watch?

Personally liked the emoji movie in the way I like all these animated movie, I'm not invested in them in anyway. I couldn't tell a good from a bad one if I tried.

I'm actually happy about this. I actually enjoyed TLK, in spite of its flaws. I won't deny coming out the same year as The Emoji Movie helped, though. In the grand scheme of things, TLK was just another Michael Bay Transformers movie, whereas The Emoji Movie is a black hole of failure from which nothing of value can be extracted.

Why does it matter if other people criticize a Transformers movie? I liked The Last Knight, but why should I waste time being offended just because others didn't?

Exactly. I don't like it, but I won't be a dick if you do. If you enjoyed it, that's all you need.

It gets very tiring hearing the same exact crap-throwing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again...

It's not surprising. Aside of wrecking the movieverse, which is relevant for Bayverse fans only... For the casual public TLK was just yet another by-the-numbers movie of this franchise.
The overcomplicated plot with far too many ideas for a single movie, the epic continuity snarl - those were important for the people who were paying any attention to this continuity to begin with.
For anyone else the movie was just an average bad blockbuster.

Emoji on the other hand... That was like the Hollywood's excercise in finding new ways of making things as bad as it's possible.

I like how before it was "It's so bad it's going to win all the Razzies", now it's "It won none, clearly means it's even worse."

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

About the only way you "win" with the Razzies is if you show up to accept your award. Doesn't make your movie any better but people do applaud you for being a good sport.

In a way, that is true, because if a film is bad enough to win a razzie, then in a kind of ironic way it's still a memorable film if only because it's so goddamn awful. After all, people still sometimes mention that godawful Catwoman film - though Berry's excellent tongue-in-cheek reception of her award helped admittedly.

But with Last Failure? It's just utter trash that isn't even worth mentioning - not like it ever stood a chance because Emoji Film is absolutely devoid of any attempt of being good. If there's any bit of praise I can give The Last Failure, it's that at some point, somebody clearly tried to make the best of that shitpile. The same can not be said of Emoji Film.

Dude. You've been here a month.

At least you've picked up the pattern quickly enough.

If you're already sick of this kind of discussion, the best thing you can do (and this goes for all of us) is to add something else to the discussion. Make a thread about a topic that is important to you, or that you think might benefit from a group discussion. Go put a well-thought-out post in one of the other threads, to bring it back to the top of the list over the threads you're sick of. Contribute positively to the discussion, instead of the endless spiral of complaining about complaining about complaining about complaining about complaining about complaining...

It's been said before on this thread, but I want to stress this observation. The Transformers movies have been like an unwanted guest for the general public. First, cautiously welcomed, then more and more aggressively opposed and shown the door. Then came the point of TLK, when the general public just started ignoring the presence of these movies, because after years of being shown the door in the most aggressive manner possible, they just wouldn't fucking leave. It became exhausting. That's the message here. The general public loves Transformers as an idea, but not these Transformers. It took 5 empty, unfulfilled promises for us to get here, but so be it. Let's hope for the best from now on.
