Im not Japanese, but I never understood the whole "convoy" thing. Why would they name a leader as a protective escort?

A very interesting read. I kind of wanna see a Starscream version of this (Hasui would have lots to talk about).
Anyway it's kind of cool that all three of these guys started with Diaclone and all felt just about the same way when TF debuted.
All three of these guys have done amazing work; Kobayashi also apparently made the Convoy I grew up with.
I was also really amused about that Ginrai/PMOP bit where they made him transform backwards just to be different.

They do use the English word 'stoic'.

    stoic
    ˈstəʊɪk/
    noun
    1. 1.
a person who can endure pain or hardship without showing their feelings or complaining.
I think they meant it in the sense that he gives off a calm and cool appearance. More of in a heroic sense.

I found it very interesting that they handed off big deal items(MP01/MP10) to someone relatively new(Kobayashi) and Hasui because when they applied to Takara, they said there were Transformers fans.

Imagine if someone collecting from the glory days of 10 years ago with non-hollow toys and denser plastic is working on MP Prime V3 and is a fan just as enthusiastic as any of us but with a background in industrial design.

If that's the case, we are in for a treat

This is a really interesting read. But my favourite thing about this is that they refer to the 'Micron Trilogy' instead of 'Unicron Trilogy'. I've been trying to get people to call it that for years! That makes me happy.

When translating I stay as close to what is actually said, and try not to interpret anything into it. Actually, I would have preferred to write Ginrai's name as 'Jinrai', since that is how it's spelled in Japanese, but the offical English transliteration on packaging is 'Ginrai'.
And nowadays there are so many figures that I don't know what English names they have^^

What TF Wiki really SHOULD start getting into the habit of doing instead of dubbing things unnecessarily

I\'m really struck by the comment that Optimus feels shame at bringing the war to Earth and that\'s a fundamental part of his character.

I mean, it IS, but I\'ve never thought about it as being actually shameful to him - regrettable, certainly, but that deep down inside, he believes that this is all his fault is a super interesting take on the character.

Me too. That's an idea I've always floated with myself. But I don't think it's ever really popped up in any actual fiction. So it was nice to see it there.

I think this is a cultural difference. In western countries (Europe etc) we have guilt based structures of regret, while in eastern countries (China, Japan etc) these are shame based.
