wow, whats with all the aholes on the site today, what the gwhiners cant take a little bit of ribbing? at least try to come at me with educated, well informed arguments rather than childish insults (and yes, im aware gwhiner is a childish insult, seems to be the only language some on these boards understand)

I’m excited for this. Especially if it means another Alpha Trion.

Kinda curious if this means another Orion Pax.

I maintain that I’d like to see Kup played as the young, immature rookie.

Man. After reading their comments, I want ALL of these sets. Hope they eventually get around to all of them.

Honestly, this kind of storytelling is what has been missing from all the box sets and convention exclusives for the past couple years. Part of a good product is good STORYTELLING. That's why the Botcon sets have such charm — they have a comic, bios, and a rich storyline behind them. I really wanted that for the recent box sets (Velocitron, Cybertron, Arcee, etc.) Hopefully these well-thought-out sets are a hint at Hasbro getting back on track.

Making these figures into characters and putting them into stories — that's what makes kids and adults want to buy them. You want to re-enact and re-live the stories, and create your own. Figures with no bio don't spark any imagination.

Big pass on the whole line if it's all Cybertronian alts. Kudos to those of you who want them though.

He says in regards to a franchise that has lasted for decades reusing basically the same handful of characters over and over.

Hell, isn't Generations entire point to be updates of old characters and designed that either had poor toys or no toys? Isn't that what people liked and wanted?

We do like that yes. The thing is, with literally hundreds of charactors, sometimes just taking an existing character and giving him or her more fleshed out traits is all that is really necessary. IDW is really good at that. I think Beasrwars counts as G1 so I welcome new versions of those, but if we're going Beastwars we need DepthCharge, that skinny repaint is totally insuficient.

Hang on. Screw the toy talk, have they revealed what format this show gonna be? If its Machinima again then we’re gonna have a serious problem.

I actually want a line of figures with Cybertronian alt-modes. I like the Earth-mode Transformers, but I wish we had more of the 'futuristic' Transformers like the ones from the 'Cybertron' games. Computron was my favourite combiner (after Predaking) for similar reasons.

There's more to the Transformers universe than Earth. Give me a line of space/futuristic Transformers to join my collection of Earth-bots.

Personally I intend to enjoy this new 'Cybertronian' toyline while it lasts.

Would prefer some of Trion's Thirteen colleagues over him again, but another Orion Pax would be nice. Missed out on TR and would prefer a Cybertronian mode for Pax... A Voyager Cybertronian mode Optimus is something I didn't know that I wanted until now...

With the vote ending tonight, I am really hoping we know the results will be known soon. So long as it's anyone other than Impactor, I will be fine. Not because I don't want a toy of Impactor, just that I would prefer a larger one and one that has an Autobot symbol...

It's going to be Impactor, isn't it? :lol

As always, if they make cool looking toys, I'll buy em.

If they suck, there's always plenty of other stuff to spend money on.

I get what you mean, and I suppose its a matter of personal taste, but I prefer my Classics to be more than just "G1 animation models with joints".

I don't really care for the "repeats of 1984 guys except they have cybertronian alt modes" idea either. Hopefully this line will just be a chance to get G1 characters who never had real earth alt modes to begin with, like Shockwave, Star Saber, Deathsaurus, Apeface, Dai Atlas, etc

Yay for Cybertronian mode Wheejack! He, bumblebee, and Jazz have been on my wants list since MTMTE first aired! Wonder if they'll make it big enough in vehicle mode for a scout class figure to fit inside. Or at least hopefully a titan/prime master. If they do it as paneling intricate as Mindwipe was, should be interesting.

Really hoping it has storage room in the back for at least Titan master/prime masters. That make for awesome play factors/dios with letting Wheeljack have an opening rear hatch to allow for pulling fellow autobots in or for energon rod hauling like in the toon.

Still won't get me excited about Cybertronian vehicle modes unless we're talking about a character who never left Cybertron or never went to Earth. At best, a figure like that would be just parts fodder for customs. I still have a bad taste in my mouth from Fall of Cybertron's design aesthetics.

Thank you for the KUDOS!!! :D  :D  :D  I feel like I should have done something to earn them, though... :sly:

But Cybertron modes are fun, imo! It's basically FUTURE SPACE TFs! I get that you must love your 1980s automobiles... but man... future cars? Hover cars? Space tanks? Doesn't that stuff grab your imagination? It should: mankind has been dreaming of future cars for decades! And one of the BIGGER DISAPPOINTMENTS of the 21st century is that we don't have those awesome cars dreamed up in the 50s! :(  Cybertronian TFs could be a major hit - if not with random kids, then definitely with the older fans (who can appreciate the future space stuff!).
Yeah, we never actually got Cybertron mode toys at all. Maybe a few semi-Cybertron toys, but nothing straight out of the G1 intro. And that's a shame.

For one thing, you can get some seriously creative alt modes with this theme. Think back to WfC/FoC toys, and remember how cool those were! Okay, well, maybe not all of them... but I loved some of the re-designs like Vortex and Blast Off! :)
