I hope to every deity in the Mists that Bay doesn't come anywhere NEAR Transformers 2. He screwed up TF #1 enough as it is. Time for respectable talent to take over.

 

I know that the formats are equal quality I don't care if Paramount or Bay sat and had lunch with whoever. All I care about is I spent $5,000 total on my HD setup to enjoy movies in HD like 300, TMNT, Ghostrider and the movie I was really looking forward to was Transformers. So when the movie gets released later this year I will not get the DVD and no way in hell am I getting an HD-DVD player to watch 1 movie I will have to wait to see if this exclusive deal has an expiration date and get it on Blu-Ray next year or the year after that. 

 

man that michael bay is such an attention whore.

What's the big deal between Blue-Ray and HD anyway? A majority of DVD players out now are HD compatible already.

 

I don't own a stand alone DVD player I just used my PS2 to play DVD's never thought I needed to buy a DVD player if the PS2 already does that. I don't own a Blu-ray player either I have a PS3 which is cheaper than a blu-ray players anyways. My point is why do an exclusive format if you can make money on both.

All this over format? What does Bay even give a shit for? He can afford whatever media playing machine he wants..

i know for a fact most of you arent bemoaning the fact its exclusive and not coming out on both formats but that its not on the one thats easiest for you to use.

it sickens me because if it was reversed the same complainers would be telling the hd dvd crowd hard luck, with some of you even acting smug its on your format

all i can say is grow up.

so its on hd dvd now and you cant play it on your ps3's you have other options

you could get the normal dvd, you know the one that isnt high definition but still gives ok picture quality.

i've heard there are ways of converting high definition dvds from one format to the other they may not be strickly legal( i dont know) but it is an option

you can get a cheep hd-dvd player it means you never have to worry about this format crap again

you can wait and see if blu ray wins the format war as paramount would be forced to swap over to blu ray then.

but seriously stop crying over it.

i dont know the man, i didnt even know he worked on badboys but the amount of gloating and wanting him away from the transformer franchise is as bad as the anti-claremont fad in comics some of you are just hating on him because its cool to do it. so bay changed his mind, bigggggg deal it happens.

Nice way to refer to people who don't enjoy Bay's child-like rantings, thank you. He's very unprofessional for a man who enjoys our money; he behaves as if he never left high school in his mind. Having passion is one thing, being a stubborn, raving dickhead is another.

Personally, I don't feel he's responsible for what made Transformers work for me; ILM, Spielberg's input, Shia, Cullen and Steve Jablonsky's score are. If I don't have to sit through another 30 minute blurry claustrophobia fest, I won't complain.

edit: if this was the first time he's pulled the unprofessional whiny bitch routine, I wouldn't have a problem with it. But it gets old. If he doesn't want to do TF2 over Paramount's HD decision, fine. Make your stand and leave. Don't come crawling back once your tantrum is over.

They went ahead and greenlit a sequal fairly early, most of the actors and voice actors signed a three movie option deal early on. We know the writers said they could not write Transformers 2 because of other work. But so far no offical word on the new writers or who will direct the film.

Sort of makes you wonder when Transformers 2 is going to be released if they are dragging their feet about a script and who's going to be the captain of the ship this go round.

 

It was an "unofficial" official source. I don't know how to say it, but if some one who is the director of a movie saying "No Transformers 2 for Me" and posts this himself on his own forums, I can see how it was a mistake to post it, but I don't see it as an uninformed post by IGN.

I was reading about the scenario in which Bay said he drank to much of the blu ray cool aid from a couple freinds at dinner then goes home and posts in the early morning.

This tells me him and a couple friends were getting lit up at dinner, talking to his freinds and they got him all riled up in a drunken rage   and then he made the mistake of TYPING ANGRY.

Heh I know iv done that a couple of times hell even on these boards. The more this guy speaks off the record ( which is technically on the record technically ) the more I tend to like him.

Not my first choice for TF2 admittedly but definitely would not mind him doing a return to the franchise.

 

I've been here the whole time thank you very much! Well, at least since we saw the designs and started hearing comments from Bay.

 

i pretty much gave up posting after i saw the movie, i was to depressed by its suckyness
