Any else having some QC issues with theirs? Just got mine in to day an well he is missing the bumper for the truck mode, the left hand is missing the pin to hold the fingers in, and to top it all of the paint on his face is a bit messed up. It looks like some of the paint from is mouth plate got in under the left eye

 

Over the last few pages it sounds like missing guns and armor pieces were the extent of it, missing the entire bumper, that’s a bad beat. Hopefully you can get a replacement? Though with the missin pin in the hand too it sounds like maybe a whole new figure might be easier...

Received mine, have not noticed any stresspoints or anything broken but I was missing one of the two small guns.  

 

A Nova version would be awesome.

Many people have had weird and random issues with how the toy was assembled, primarily with missing parts. Paint work on mine is just fine. Literally the most common thing is the toy just not being completed.

You should be able to easily get yourself that bumper piece and a pin for your hand, perhaps even a replacement head for the little guy. MT is having to address many issues like this so it'll vary how easy/fast you can get yours resolved. Gotta talk to your seller or try to contact mt directly.

 

Is it easier to go through the seller or Maketoys directly for missing parts?

 

I didn’t get any missing pieces, but I wish I’d just had that issue. Mine is covered in stress marks, stress cracks, sprue marks, and overspray. This is right out of the box, mind you. It also has the separating shoulder issue. I tried assembling the Divine Suit trailer, but it won’t tab together (except for the heel pieces and the chrome thigh bits... bless ‘em for being troopers   ). The forearm armor pieces don’t even sit in the tab slots. I know most of the Thunder Manii I’ve seen in reviews have had looseness issues with these parts, but these won’t even just loosely sit in the right places. It’s like their tabs aren’t long enough to fit the slots, so they just slide all over. One of the shin armor pieces is misassembled, so it won’t tab to the trailer, and it just falls right back off the back of the leg at random. It’s much worse than what was in Baltmatrix’s video.

I haven’t ever had any serious issues with a MakeToys product before, outside of Quantron. But Quantron came with nearly all the parts I needed to fix him, and MakeToys quickly made good on the other piece I needed. So I don’t doubt that they’ll try to make things right for everyone. It’s just a little bit of a bummer that my only “big” toy purchase that I can afford to make this year had so many QC issues. But whatever, a defective toy is not a serious problem. My seller passed on my photos and issues to MakeToys, and I’m trying to decide between getting a plethora of replacement parts to come later, or an outright exchange.

I am getting to enjoy little Manus in the meantime, though. He has no serious issues and is my first 3P legends scale figure, and man, he’s a hell of a lot of fun. A really poseable and expressive little guy. It makes me wish that I’d gone all-in on Iron Factory and War in Pocket when I could afford to collect 3P and MP stuff. He’s great and I love the adorable little thing.

 

Anyone know what the pegs on the bottom of the sword hilt are for?

 

I just completed Iron Factory Bruticus and let me tell you about QC.... I've had a terrible run so far this year. I'm glad I'm just missing a small gun for Thunder Manus. Some of these other issues are disappointing considering MT is one of my favorite 3Ps right now.

 

Sorry to hear about the defects. It really feels like they rushed for Chinese New Year and it bit them pretty hard.

On the positive side, you've discovered the magic of 3rd Party legends, so if money eases up, you have a new thing to eat up all your money! Maybe that's not such a positive...

 

BBTS shipped mine the other day, so probably next week before it comes in. Crossing my fingers for no defects.
Y'know, if CNY was the primary cause, I really wouldn't have minded waiting a bit longer to avoid the QC issues. Hopefully they take note of the complaints and don't rush things out before a major holiday in the future.

 

You could peg another sword there if u have two thunder manus, otherwise idk lol

 

I wish mine would show up already, all of these QC reports are making me nervous. He was supposed to arrive today, but seems to have been pushed back to tomorrow because FedEx didn't bother to pick it up from BBTS for 24 hours.

 

On the forearm armor thing, mine were pretty loose til I put the other pieces on top of them in trailer mode, locked them right down.

 

I am slightly relieved I didn't get this now... gonna wait and see if I can buy him later, maybe once the QC issues are sorted out.

 

I have this guy on my want/watch list but definitely going to wait and see if they can fix the QC issues first. LOOKS great though (assuming you win the QC roulette), and I didn't realize until recently that it's technically "Legends" scaled. Legends scale is where it's at for me right now so this fits right in my wheelhouse.

 

I think the moral of this story as well as AA Optimus is never buy figures that are being released right before CNY lol. This figures QC does not reflect MakeToys other releases at all.

 

Fingers crossed that their amazing-looking Galvatron isn’t released just before CNY...
