Has there ever been a Movie Ratchet figure with his face and head painted correctly?
Every time it's missing lots of silver.

I think Takara's "Movie the Best" series was pretty close. Ratchet (Movie)/toys - Transformers Wiki

Just opened him up, and he hasn't made the best firt impression with me. Right after I got him outta the box, I noticed his shoulders were really, really floppy. The shoulder gaurds are just moving wherever they feel like it, but it doesn't annoy me as much as originally thought I would.

Back kibble is pretty unsightly, but I don't mind kibble that much.

Ratchet's the only figure so far to have an ankle tilt, which is really cool!

The face doesn't really bother me as much as I thought it would...

I'm about to try and transform this figure without the instructions. I've heard that they're crap, and I don't want to be frustrated at this figure like I am with MPM Prime due to the instructions. I'll update in a bit!

Update! I figured out the deal with the shoulders, so that complaint is gone. I was also able to transform it without the instructions. That's a pretty fun transformation if I do say so myself. Only real problem is the kibble, otherwise it's a damn nice toy!

Don't know if this is helpful, but his head looks weird due to the overall sculpt. His head a lot more thicker than pics make it look, and it suggests that he has a collar. I'll take a pic later if you want clarification, but thought I'd mention it. I use to think his head was weird, but it's not that bad in hand.

Is there any difference in overall molds between the Movie Best and this new Studio Series?

Yes. There's a side-by-side comparison on Post #16. Basic engineering is the same, but it appears to be all-new.

That's actually not the Movie Best figure.....I'm referring to the Takara line MB one. It has the chrome rims and whatnot. Just watched a video on it....I can't tell why anyone would want this new Studio Series with its unpainted everything, and long kibble cape. The Movie Best one looks 10x better.

The MB definitely has better paint apps, but the SS does have some things going for it, especially the height, shoulder lights, and saw blade.

    True.

I'd imagine a chrome marker to the outside of the rims, along with a dab of silver sharpie/paint to the face, and it'll be up to par.

Ratchet to me is the winner of the wave, granted Stinger alludes me so I don't know if he'll dethrone the doc but this guy is just fun. You'd think how loose his leg joints are that they'd ruin the figure but no they improve it, he is just so much fun to pose! And you know what he really feels like the Dark of the Moon deluxe, I really like that figure its much better then the voyager mold and so it was easy for me to fall in love with this figure.

As soon as I got him I had to compare him to Dark of the Moon Ratchet, yep he is a new mold but he stands just as tall and feels like the older deluxe but better in every way!

Weird fact but before AOE & TLK made Hound, Crosshairs, Drift, & Hot Rod my favorite Transformers from the Bayverse that title was held by Sideswipe & Ratchet. I don't know (or I guess remember) what it was about Ratchet that made him a favorite of mine.

The saw blade looks really nice with that metallic paint! I feel like I’ll wanna cur down those weird neck/double chin parts of the head sculpt.

IS there a size Comparison between this and HFTD Ratchet? Just want to know if HFTD one is bigger, it may be good for future Voyager Ironhide.

Man......this Ratchet looks okay. I mean, it looks alright. If they repaint it into his DOTM colors, I'll probably bite. Those colors were so much nicer than his original colorscheme.

Legs are also way more accurate looking, with less vehicle occupying spaces that should be robot parts.
