So it seems the Predaking head is stored inside Razorclaw's back - I barely noticed at first. And he has his Destron (Takara) number-code on the stickers. I like how the shoulder guns are present too like on the G1 toy.

My only gripe with Razorclaw is the lack of a lion tail... or maybe he has one but it's not visible. It seems the mane parts that form Predaking's chest can be flipped up too, dunno for what.

Predaking looks awesome. If MFT would downsize him to Legends class then I'd be in heaven. I'm sure my son will be all over this big one, though.

I'm really impressed with how it turned out after the glimpses we saw of it last year. I hope it's got some great joints on it too. I'd hate to think that all of that good lookingness might end up a floppy Combiner Wars mess.

 

Ohh, now it all makes sense. Also Unicron.com's photo (who is the guy who owns that place? he ever posts here?) - thanks to his side-view photos of Rampage I now realized that both sides of Predaking torso (outlined in blue) are actually parts of Rampage and Divebomb. For the latter, it's likely kept inside his hollow torso, while for Rampage it's the "tiger-butt" (as I recall, he was a tiger, not a panther, right?)


I also love how they kept the (indian rhinoceros-style) armor scales on Headstrong's front legs, which were only present in the animation model.

No, that's kept under the lion head. I meant the ones on the sides. But now I see they are flipped out to the sides when you form the Predaking torso, since the black parts under them come from the two arm-bots, and not from Razorclaw.

In Italy, GiG sold Hasbro/Takara products and they renamed pretty much everyone. Torox was Tantrum's Italian name. It's a nice hommage to use it now even if it is due copyright reasons.
And yes, Headstrong was called Rinox.  

 

I am loving this new predaking but i would love the cannon barrols and wings bigger. Im kind of hoping to see some add-ons to be available not long after release. I mean don't get me wrong i love this predaking cause hes my favorite but those wings need to be abit bigger and cannon barrols bigger.

I don't have him out on my desk, how tall is CW/UW Devastator? Also 45 cm? Because in comparison with Abominus on the table, Predaking seems taller than a CW style gestalt.

I once heard rumors of a gigantic white/gold G1 Predaking KO, but could never hunt down even pics of it.
And yeah, the G1 sword was tiny. Ah well, plenty giant swords that come with various cheap toys that I can repurpose.

Yeah, I am angry at MYSELF that despite otherwise following G1 Razorclaw's mantra ("All good things succumb to those who await") and resisting the urge to buy any third party stuff, I fell for Hercules and bought all the members. I have not purchased a third party gestalt before, or after, for the record.
And while I liked the toy, it had issues. Quite a lot of issues. Some fixed by release of replacement parts later, other... not so much.

Yes, I noted, and I much like them because they are EXACTLY like the G1 toys. I will review them side by side with the G1 toys when I get them, trust me.

I have helped a friend get the KO Feral Rex shipped, so yes, I have seen that thing.
And I don't mind huge backpacks if they are not visible from the front. I am the guy who likes Universe Cheetor.  

But it's not necessary when Razorclaw was never larger than the other Predacons, whether toy, G1 toon, G1 comic, DW comic, IDW comic....

Then enjoy your box of nothing because if you do not compromise in life, that's what you will have in the end. I imagine you are one of those collectors (I know a guy like that in Hungary) who points out the flaws in each new Has/Tak release every time, and then sighs a deep sigh of relief because now he has reasons to not to buy them, instead of admitting he is simply saving money for other stuff.

Same here, I love playing with Devastator, have separated and reassembled him so often! In comparison, with Hercules, that was not something I could do on the "side" while watching a cartoon episode or TV show.

Same here, but I am on the fence about Primal. On one hand, I never was a big fan of the BW toyline, and I had Optimal Optimus in-hand a few times and was disappointed how his alt modes were so... basic for a giant toy. And the new toy looks pretty much exactly like that toy. On the other hand, I don't own any Optimus Primal toys at all, and this way I could get him and his Optimal form too. We will see.. To those who have the BW toy, why does he have an extra shoulder joint, when it seems the gorilla mode uses the same arm configuration as the robot?

 

I just remind myself of CW Mixmaster's enormous butt, and tell myself there's at least a precedent for that sort of thing.

 

One scale to have them all. One scale find them and in the stores buy them, and on the shelf put them all.

And in your collection bind them.

Yep, glad there are options. I'll keep Feral Rex for CHUG. Maybe put Predaking (combined) on my MP shelf like UW Devy.

So the only hope for a repaint for Predaking will be a SDCC exclusive? I don't think there's a Hasbro convention this year. Normally I'd wait for Takara but that's not happening.
