I think it's just the most predictable outcome. Kind of disappointing that this means the status quo won't be changing much as far as Soundwave is concerned.
Bumblebee sporting his new Evergreen look, I see. That just leaves Megatron to switch over (when we eventually see him next, I'm guessing), and then all of the big four (Optimus, Megs, Starscream and Bee) will be using their Evergreen bodies in the comics. *holds out eternal hope for high-quality Generations figures of the Evergreen designs*
Yeah, damn Alex Milne for making the Cyberverse Bumblebee design look great! It's a shame the toys currently look terrible - a figure that actually looked as good as Milne's take on Bumblebee here I would snap up, though. Spoiler (I'm one of the few glad to see Bumblebee back in the land of the living, it seems. )
Who says Unicron will destroy everyone or that he will be destroyed? The assumption is that we will get the same scenario as always. We know that IDW like to put a different spin on things. What if he ended up peacefully coexisting after a frantic fight of course?

Ok, I\'m really late to the party, but I\'m so confused about what\'s going on... can someone clear it up for me?
This preview nicely spoils the reveal of that oh-so-NOT-exciting plot of Bumblebee being "Mostly Dead" for all these, what, 5 years now? Apparently, he is back alive and well. And I guess the Solstarians are just those blue skinned Voltron people? I thought they were robots like ROM, a character I don't know anything about but who has been jumpstarted from his original Marvel comics to Transformers for no reason whatsoever. Remember the Marvel Unicron, who has been led up like, a year before his actual appearance, and who has been sending his agents long before his arrival to soften up Cybertron? Or the Dreamwave Armada one who devastated a whole alternate dimension and sent over a dead Optimus Prime while taking the living one to be devoured? And who has been doing this for millenia, hopping from dimension to dimension? Now, no lead-up or intrigue, he just pops up over an organic world related to some ancient Marvel character I never heard about until he was ported over to IDW for some reason. Remember when Optimus had to convince Scorponok - by surrendering all the Autobots to him - that Unicron is real and they need to unite against him? Guess nothing like that will happen here, since there are basically no more Decepticons anymore, and the civil war was killed off years ago because IDW thought it was not reader friendly or something? (I still feel that was their worst mistake, the comics have been boring ever since)
This preview is set after the current arc of Optimus Prime, of which only the first part is currently out, so this is basically a glimpse forward into the future. All we know is that Bumblebee has somehow escaped the miniature black hole he's been trapped in for four years, and that Rom has apparently fetched Optimus Prime and co. because a big robot monster has started eating his home planet.
I agree, he should have done like Spike and said "Holy shit!" (also, neat, I just noticed this place has no stupid 'turn-swear-words into other words' filter like the Allspark, yay) Given what they did with Megatron, suddenly forgetting and forgiving the billions he killed in a galaxy spanning conquest and civil war... would not be surprised. Heck, still find it strange that NONE of the organic races went after the Lost Light after they learned Megatron was captain. Remember the TNG episode where Q lost his powers, and suddenly every race he ever messed with was out to destroy him? Or heck, Silver Surfer cartoon where the reaces whose planets Galactus destroyed quite understandably built a fleet to hunt him down and take their revenge?
Honestly, it'd be a huge swerve if Unicron somehow *didn't* get blown up/destroyed. It'd be the most unexpected outcome available since that never happens. Bonus points if he ended up being habitable by anyone who follows him.
Not exactly. Hasbro has owned Rom ever since they bought Tonka, but he was licensed out to Marvel by Parker Brothers back in the 80s. He wasn't originally a Marvel character, and they never renewed the license or tried to acquire him. As for why Hasbro brought him back? Well they had just been sitting on the rights for years, might as well do something with him.
I noticed that too. Very nice how he wasn't saying much, but is present in the background. So that gives us wartime leaders of both factions as Megs is in his alternate universe? Please, please don't let Autobot Megatron's universe be the reboot.
Glad Bumblebee is back. Killing off comic book characters is lazy and stupid writing nowdays... especially since with him floating around being Starscream's conscience the entire time. It's kind of like how Marvel killed Wolverine, then introduced Old Man Logan about 5 minutes later who everyone treats like Wolverine, and who acts exactly like Wolverine. But evidently, isn't Wolverine.
