Why couldn't they fight over this over another movie? That is, why do we have to suffer our favorite things because of this. It could have been Spiderman (though since Sony owns it that seems unlikely). Or Simpsons... Movies that I don't care about the sequel or whether they are on HD or not.

Not really sure what to think. I guess I wouldn't mind seeing a different approach to Tansformers 2, so I won't exactly be devastated if he doesn't do it.

I can agree with that. A consistent saga would be nice, but it wasn't "WOW.......WE HAVE TO HAVE HIM BACK". I hope he considers this as leverage for his negotiations. I do appreciate the fact that he will wants to stand up for creative interpretation, but this is a little outlandish. If the studio was bought to put it on one format, then he can just take a cut from his pay, to have the movie release on both formats. I have seen that a good bit of us think that bay can be replaced, my self included. Star Wars got better with different directors, why cant TRANSFORMERS!!!

Gotta love it how a (pseudo) anti-Bay topic is created, when all the sudden, all these noobs start appearing out of no where to help bash him.

I loved the movie and thought Michael Bay did an awesome job directing. Sure, the writing could have been a little better, but that's not Bay's main area of expertise. Bay's an action director and guess what?!? Transformers is an action movie! Holy crap! Does anyone see the connection? He's a to the point, no nonsense director. What's wrong with that?

The movie was awesome and Bay did a hell of a job. If you don't think so then talk to the 600 miillion George Washingtons in Paramount/Dreamworks' bank.

I'll be laughing behind this board when everybody is "praying" for TF2 just to make its budget back, so we can get a sequel (TF3).

.......This could be the last time I'd say....."its great to be a TF fan."

I think Bay is good at what he does. Highly Stylized action with a Militaristic core. I was happy to hear that Bay was the director for this film and with ILM and Spielberg onboard, created the recipe for box office draw. How many people do you know that went to see transformers primarilty for the "written content". The good ol plot curve from grade school was the least of my worries. This is all that I expected for a plot:

The Transfomers, more than meets the eye
Autobots wage thier battle to destroy the evil forces of....THE DECEPTICONS

I would be happy to see bay do the sequel, and I think he is the best man for the job, but two out of the three isn't bad.

I'm new to this board, but not a noob. I was at a shall-remain-nameless-other-big-board for years until I was verbally beaten like I walked down a dark alley wearing only $100 bills simply for choosing not to go to the movie because I didn't like significant things about it. They did it to people who elected to just plain 'see it eventually', too.

I've earned the right to laugh a little at the turnaround. :lol

It's not all about money. Look at Batman Begins...made a lot less than Bayformers but Begins is maybe about a trillion times better than Bayformers.

Get Bay out and a Director who cares about character and story.

P.S. It is is funny how my fellow Bay bashers have awoken from their slumber.
