I appreciate the discussion about the Evergreen aesthetic, I think the other threads on the site have a bit too much Doom and Gloom regarding Evergreen and in particular the Authentics sub-line. I don't think the Evergreen aesthetic is something to get too excited about. I think it's an evolution of the first attempt at an Aligned continuity family, instead of trying to keep stories based off the same source now only the aesthetic is unified. Unfortunately (to me) it's even more heavily G1 influenced than Aligned was, which kind of shackles it in terms of creativity. But I think it will either end up being relegated to Authentics eventually or abandoned in the next 3 years or so. I just can't imagine every Transformers line looking the same for an extended period of time. At some point you have to inject some newness a la Beast Wars. I guess here's hoping to something brand new out of nowhere like BW was after the Evergreen Aesthetic wraps up in a couple years. Is this the gobot you mentioned looked like Aileron?
If you redeco Jazz into Prime Knock Out than there your moneys worth than. Also @Seth Buzzard there a reason why Namor, Black Bolt, & Iron Man are in the Black Panther wave of Marvel Legends.
I'd like to know what you guys think of the XFL relaunch. Also I thought Geed was a good teaser for all the previous Ultraman continuity, with the way they touched on, but didn't go way into, what had happened before with Belial. Definitely sent me into that Ultraman rabbit hole.
Awwww hey, I do that pizza trick. I lost 20 lbs last year by cutting my carbs in half. I still eat as much fat and grease as I used to. In the situation you described, I would have eaten the hotdog with the bun, because it's otherwise just a weak sausage. Then I'd scrape the good parts off of the pizza.
Non-G1 answers to the listener question: Classics Bumblebee into the Twins The Universe Lambo mold done in red and white as Deadlock and Drift Energon Ironhide or X-Brawn as Bulkhead Cohrada as Lockdown Movie 1 Bumblebee as Trickdiamond
Re: ML Black Panther wave... theres a Toys R Us 2-pack with Klaw and Shuri... except they are the comic designs.
To be fair, Iron Man being in the Black Panther wave still makes sense since he, BP, Namor and Black Bolt are Illuminati members.
As someone who works on steam locomotives I can safely say they cannot be powered by goggles or top hats.
I can get that but Panther is movie style while the others are comic book. My repeated irritation is there can't just be a movie wave, they always have half or more comic figures.
Since I've preety much stopped Transformers collecting, I started collecting more Marvel Legends. Well I do like the new Iron Man figure because it's my first Iron Figure so I'm not sick of him, yet. I totally see Seth's point and would like to see this line more focused on the movie characters. Like seriously a figure of Shuri would be awesome or as I will be calling her from now on, Voltron hands. Also, seriously Vangelus stop talking about how good POTP Optimus is because you are really making me want one. Oh I could get Rodimus Unicronus to go with him because those colors make me feel things. Oh no I'm going down the rabbit hole again, just when I thought I was getting out. Onore Vangelus!
