I think it's a bit of an obligation for those of us that have more cerebral and balanced view of things to engage in a topic only on the posts and opinions that show promise. Developing a thick skin is a necessary part of engaging in the internet as it is. I'll not pretend that it is in any way easy, or that anyone can be above it all at all times, but not trying to uphold that standard simply cedes the topic to the worst aspects among us. I find that not using the ignore feature actually helps with this. That way I always see the entire field for what it is rather than what I'd like it to be. It is also important philosophically to see only the good in people and try to encourage that. You never know when someone might have something worthwhile to say, and if you only respond to the positive posts someone makes you are encouraging their better natures.

Hopefully you see this and it renews a little of your faith in the fandom. There is much good to dwell on if you can look past the pettiness of it all.

For those complaining about how they could end it after so long, you do realize your a fan of a franchise that literally thrives on reboots? The G1 Cartoon and comics ended. Beast Wars and Beast Machines ended. RID ended. The Unicron Trilogy ended. Animated ended. The Aligned Continuity ended. And now Bayverse has ended. You should be happy that it lasted longer than the other incarnations. Hell, like G1, it's influence will definitely be felt for generations to come and it will always be an important part of the franchise. I wish it had ended on a high note, but it's too beaten up to keep going any longer.

"It's time for the Bayverse to end."

Like I said, I'm not defending the movies. I'm just saying that we need to go in with realistic expectations. More Diaclone looking designs, a less angry Optimus Prime, humans that are important but take the backseat to Transformers when they are on the screen...all of these would be welcomed.

Shallow, tiring, and annoying is the same description i would use for g1. You should stop stating your opinion as if its fact.

This is like hearing news that after being stuck on the 'Miss a Go' square for eleven years, you're finally allowed another roll of the dice ... but at least three sides of the dice are portals to an even more terrible dimension. Fingers crossed for a six.

    *edit*

Oh, and to all those defending the Bayverse - wouldn't you at least like a shot at a Transformers movie getting some critical/cultural kudos? Marvel movies often rack up good reviews, and lots of people who don't read the comics will say they enjoy them. But nobody, as far as I'm aware, seriously sticks up for the Bayverse movies outside of the core TF fanbase. Millions of people might go to see them for a relaxing night out, but I'm not sure they actually think they're any good.

I, for one, would like to be able to invite my friends to see a Transformers movie in the fond hope that they won't just think I've gone insane.

Reboot doesn't mean Bay is leaving?

My very first post on this page, so have some mercy on me.

On the one hand, I\'m glad for the reboot, while like the Star Wars prequels the Bay movies had some pros (in my opinion were many of the  physical desings) I won\'t deny that in my eyes the movies were going downhill, despite man of the interesting concepts they introduced (I for one am interested about Transformers interacting with humans well before the war).
Now I\'m not asking for a recreation of G1 because let\'s face it, the original cartoon was fun but in terms of storytelling doesn\'t hold up that well. But if they go that route, I hope they follow a more \"optimistic\", for lack of a better term, version of the IDW continuity. If not something like Prime or even Animated will be cool too.

And well, in any case, we always will have fanfics right? I\'m actually working on my own series of Hasbro Universe stories. That said I hope this leads to a good Hasbro Universe. Hasbro can still learn the right lessons and not end up like Universal.

The point is "compute" means "to make sense." Whether you agreed with him or not, nothing that member said was something that didn't make sense. Most members on here do have a reasoning or logic to their opinions. Not all, but most.

And this news should not be vindication or validation for either "side" that their opinions about certain films were wrong or right. If someone enjoyed any or all of the films, that's great. If someone disliked most or all, that's okay, too.

This fandom will never be united in agreement, but that's okay. The key in this fandom isn't so much unity as accepting the disagreements with grace.

Bay5 flopped and Paramount is literally dying right now.

So let them continue making Bay's crap (hence BumbleBay for instance). My point has still been made. Which is that Paramount are greedy, incompetent, idiots. And their luck has run out!

Yeah, and some people like eating undercooked Armadillo while others derive pleasure from sticking needles into their ball sack. So?

Thank god, it\'s long overdue. Hopefully when the reboot is made Bay won\'t have a dan thing to do with it and the series will be made with greater respect for the Transformers mythos and respects the interlligence of the viewer. Properly modernizing G1 designs that aren\'t a mess of scrap metal that\'s mostly grey and not making Optimus freakin\' Prime a murderous psycho would be a great start. Also, more heart, less pathetic attempts at \"humor\". It is unfortunate we we won\'t know anything about the reboot for a few years but if this means we get a respectable new series it\'s a worthy sacrifice.

Either dispute the posts or don’t. The whole “all opinions are valid” thing is just go-nowhere trolling.

It makes sense for the filmverse to end at some point and while I'm a fan of the Bayverse and enjoy it I do think The Last Knight was kind of a disaster so it makes sense that Hasbro would feel it's no longer worth continuing.
However what I will say is that if that's the case they should have ended it with a TF6 instead of the Bumblebee movie. To be frank I feel that while I'll still be interested to see what the do, treading ground that was covered beautifully by comics is going to be less interesting than actually finishing off the series with a bang. AOE was actually good in setting up for future stories; TLK completely blew that but also still had a cliffhanger to pick up on. Now we get...to not finish that and instead get more Bumblebee (because clearly that's what so many people want).
Now more than ever I wish they could get the people who worked on the IDW movie tie ins back and have them write us an epic comic to give us a proper conclusion.

Also : just because something is labeled as 'live action' movie, doesn't mean it always has to feature fully realistic visuals.

A stylized film, might not require hyper expensive Cgi renders.....

Gonna miss it. Especially if Cyberverse is the aesthetic we have to look forward to. It was nice having at least one line that was more than slavish G1 junk.

If the Movie anniversary line is dead, I'm done collecting for a while. Hope it's not.
