So I was fiddling with the forearms and I managed to peg them to the torso. Personally I find it better this way.

as cool as the bot modes are on this guy, the alt mode is really unacceptably bad. I wonder if there was more to it and budget cuts or something doomed it to this mess.

To me, the alt mode looking convincing (even if a scifi vehicle) is just as important to it really being a transformer as the bot mode, and it's really doubly important on a realistic earth alt mode.

I am on the fence with him. He looks great don't get me wrong. However he just seems too big for my collection as my definitive Megatron is ToyWorld Hegemon. I wish there was an alternative transformation to make Orion in his standard bot mode into Optimus. I may get it down the line though.

[IMG][IMG] I came up with a minor "fan mode" for the truck cab. It's not *much* of an improvement, but I like it better than the default. When paired with the trailer, it looks like there's a bunch of machinery joining the two together and not just a couple of arms folding up in back. Also hides the hands better.

I tend to do it that way too. It's not perfect, but it does vaguely remind me of one of those long cables that connects from a cab to a trailer.
I do have to wonder if a 3rd party might make removable metallic looking smoke stacks that fit over the tiny red ones that could also cover part of the gap in the area.

Am I the only one who cant find ANY leader class transformers in stores? No target or walmarts in my area seem to carry that size. Ive been to 5 targets and 4 walmarts in my area.

I'm on the east coast, which is generally the last region in the US to get new stuff. Rodimus is already shelf-warming here at most targets. Optimus is harder to find, but not impossible. I just saw an optimus 2 days ago at a target. POTP leaders haven't really hit walmarts here yet though.

I love this figure! I had high expectations, and he certainly delivered. Probably my favorite leader that I have. I hope TT does a Nemesis Prime repaint that WON'T be a pain in the ass to get....

I did some more to my prime for a more cartoon accurate Matrix and WILDLY improved head articulation. If you're comfortable with an xacto blade and a figure meeting then I highly reccomend this. First the Matrix, pop out the orange piece and cut off the squared edges with the knife and sand. I had to repaint my orange because my blade slipped and scuffed the paint, besides the blue on mine was already kinda bleeding through, then cut the two bars of plastic that were on either side of the Matrix in its square shape out. Then put the Matrix back in and trim the excess plastic from the titan knub that is the head on all the titan master figures to make it flush to the main body. I glued in my orange matrix center as I have no intention of swapping it out. I also sanded all the faces of the matrix very lightly so that it would be easier to put in and take out of Primes chest Then for the head articulation. If you look down on the figure from above you will see a half hexagon shape in the outer Prime armor while the plate the Optimus head is on is square. So if you try to move his head up the plastic on the armor bumps into the neck plate. So shave the neck plate down as shown in the picture and you will have full range of motion! Also does anyone have any info on an upgrade kit and/or the inevitable Nemesis Prime repaint??

I finally found one of these. So far all I've seen for leaders is the one Roddy I bought and now this. Anyway, aside from the standard "all employees must wear blindfolds while applying stickers" thing that Hasbro has been enforcing, I love it! I really enjoy how the main combined bot is basically MP10 in looks and size only the whole thing transforms into cab & trailer. Orion looks really great as well, although yeah the alt mode sort of stops being anything once you peek around the front end. But it works, it's fun, it pulls the trailer, it's fun, it poses nicely, it combines and locks in super tight, and it's fun. Did I mention this toy is fun? :)

I see what you're saying, but at that point you might as well just start out with a MP10...

Had a gift card burning a hole in my pocket, so picked him up.

He's decent enough. Really wish they had just done this gimmick for Headmaster Optimus. Made a voyager Orion and a standalone Leader Optimus.

Still, I like him but he does feel incredibly cheap compared to TR leaders. We just need a plain old gimmickless Prime that doesn't cost a $160.

    5/10.
