We all know the big green guy ended up being yet another squat villain in TLK. And as his desire for a bigger door should ensure, I’m not saying “squat” to refer to his stature. The guy did diddly squat, and even I got fooled to believe he’d do more than he did by that production photo. But hey, don’t expect much from a Movie con. So, what would you have done with Onslaught? Who would you have voicing him, who would he have fought, who would’ve killed him if anyone, what would you have done? I recently saw a stop motion where Onslaught hauled around a trailer in which Berserker was kept as a pet to be unleashed, and I imagined him as a big, dumb, goofy Igor type. “Ohohoho boy, yes Lord Megatron!” Just to kinda make him a dumb, lovable doofus. And it reminded me of @SPLIT LIP ’s idea for TLK where Cogman Headmasters Onslaught, whose head is left bouncing around and complaining. I imagined Onslaught going in a big goofy voice, “Heyyyy! What’re ya doing?!? Lemme go, lemme go!” Just for shits and giggles. I had another idea too where Onslaught finds Sqweeks in the town and is like “oh, yummy! A little Autobot snack!” And Nitro goes “Come on man, it’s just a little ugly dude, don’t eat him!” And Onslaught makes some complaint about prison food, and Nitro retaliates with a fat joke or something. Just my thoughts to give Onslaught SOME personality or something. How about you?
1. Rename Onslaught into Shrekage. He was a mean, green, dying machine. 2. Have Shrekage's decapitated head become the Deshrekticon Ogrelord of the abandoned town. His throne is an old, moldy theater seat where Scalpel, Reedman, and the Blenderbot come to serve their master. 3. From his throne he commands his minions to water the abandoned town and plant it with the seeds of onions and numerous other swamp-dwelling plants. A swamp is born. 4. When the water level rises Mohawk's head, which looks like a catfish, is now able to swim through the water and become a terror to all land lovers who dare venture into the deep! You're in his swamp now! 5. A Shrekformers Cinematic Onionverse is born.
Is it safe to assume that this Onionverse would have multiple layers which would result in multiple movies for each layer?
Leave everything exactly the same, except when Drift and Crosshairs confront him he runs and then slams into a door frame that's slightly too small for him, knocking his head clean off.
I'd have stuck to the original plans and have him and Dreadbot go to England with Barricade and Nitro Zeus. I have no idea why they changed it to something way shittier in the final movie. My only answer to that is 'It's The Last Knight' and TLK was a mess. I hate harping on this 'the original version of TLK' thing but it really annoys me that they took a huge positive (Actually having a team of Decepticons that isn't cannon fodder to show off how cool the Autobots are) then took a shit on it for no logical reason.
To be honest I would make all the new decepticons non decepticons. Instead of being cons they would be bounty hunters like Lockdown. The creators sent them to earth to wipe out anybody who is not worshiping the creators. I would keep all the same characters and the way they act but I would change them a bit for example they would have a ship. Nitro Zeus would be leader Onslaught would be his right hand man Mohawk as a spy Hooligan as a doctor Berserker would be the hound counterpart.
It sucks to know that there was filming of Onslaught elsewhere outside of America and that nothing came out of it. The London scene with the other Autobots isn't in the final film also and that sucks too. To be fair, I don't know the context of either scenes, but I would guarantee I might have enjoyed the movie a little more.
For starters I would not have him look anything like Long haul. He would need to look intimidating. He would be the toughest out of all the characters in the film. He wouldn't die in less than 2 seconds. A flash back scene of Onslaught nearly killing squeaks would be added
Onslaught needed to look less like Long Haul and deserved more screentime. Thanks for all that hype for nothing. I actually thought he would be a Decepticon who actually cared about the undercover tactic, what with him having a tow truck mode, in contrast to all the other Cons who enjoyed breaking cover the first chance they got.
I do wonder why they made such an effort of having customised vehicles when the alt modes are merely glimpsed and the characters don’t have a huge part; Onsluaght, Mowhawk, even Crosshairs and Drift, May as well have all been stock versions of their vehicles because they weren’t on screen for any duration that would allow the viewer appreciate them. If I remember right from the featurettes, even Optimus had his vehicle mode slightly changed, which is ridiculous given we see the truck for about three seconds at the end.
I would change him as the main villain in this film. Only because in the original G1 cartoon, he was a Rouge Decepticon. Plus for some reason, a character like that, I always thought he could be voiced by Patrick Warburton You know, I just realized it. I always thought he had like a Captain Hook arm or a Dr. Claw arm. But that claw is just an extra arm weapon. I can see his actual right hand in this picture and clips of him.
obviously he would have more line, and have the altered mouth he had during his line all throughout. i would have had him fight and hold off drift and crosshairs, maybe give them a beating, then gets trounced by grimlock and retreats with the others. we would then see the cons in Europe and they decider to let cade find the staff for them. he would then be at Stonehenge and fire on the humans before he and barricade retreat after megatron leaves.
That's another odd thing. In his introduction and even a trailer for the movie he had a modified Long Haul head with a jaw. But after that he has the stock Long Haul head and doesn't talk again. What happened to this character
I was expecting Onslaught to be as tough as Brawl in TF1. Boy, was I wrong. I wanted another scene where a bunch of autobots had to gang up on him to beat him. Which technically did happen, but it was so anti-climactic.
My original idea for the fourth film was Onslaught coming to Earth with his small commando team of Combaticons looking to hunt down Prime for killing Megatron. They would be more covert and play up the disguise aspect, but still let lose and wreck havoc when needs be. Onslaught would be the main villain of the film and a refined, charismatic character with no ethics, alot like Hannibal Lecter, and the climax of the film would be a fight against Bruticus. But no rail guns within the area, and no monkey mech (I really like movie Dev except the ball thing, but Bruticus would be more traditional in stance). It would take all the bots working together with stratagy to take down Bruticus. As for what I would have done for him in TLK? Not used his name.
My original hope was that Onslaught is introduced this movie and have the Combaticons Formed in the Sixth Film.
