I never said I wasn't taking your word for it. I was asking you to shed some light and I gave you some points to touch on that you didnt address. Looking at pictures and videos of a bunch of statues on a shelf isnt going to give any of us a peek as to what goes on in these uber-rich collectors minds. I could understand a statue collector wanting optimus, megatron, or bumblebee. But a Quintison? Cmon now...I think thats reaching way too deep into the obscurity section of Transformers fiction. Will they buy a Kranix statue too? How deep are they into the fiction yet they dont buy actual Transformers?

There is already a thread on this.

Click on the link above, you'll see that they are planning a full Quintesson and even mention that they are trying to work on a base that will allow it to rotate/spin.

I wouldn't waste my money on a Grand Max, however I would buy a Quint statue. I also wouldn't call Quintessons obscure.

Also, I'm pretty sick of this "doesn't transform" argument. Transformers is a story as much as it is a toy. They don't have to transform. Quintessons don't transform and they are in the lore. Why waste your money on Transformer t-shirts, they don't transform... better not have a baseball cap or a poster, they don't transform either.

We've had this discussion before. You don't have to be uber-rich to afford these. Just be money smart and as it's on topic, if you don't buy all the MP figures or has/tak figures you'd have more money for things like this. For the record, I probably wouldn't buy a Kranix, no. However there are plenty of obscure ones I would buy. Darkwing/Dreadwind statue combo would be amazing.

Thanks for information, missed that link.

I had feeling like they have plan to make all five faces as separate statue.

Had tattoo of Quintessons and really want to have nice statue.

It should be relatively proportional to how many Optimus Prime toys are out there in comparison to other character toys, I think. Only Bayverse Bee has a similar ratio.

I mean, I collect Optimus Prime figures. What weirdo has 40+ different Optimus Primes in their collection, to the point where it can be recognized as a collection all by itself? That would be me. Granted, I don't own an actual Optimus statue. I already have 2 large non-transforming Primes with 2 more preorders paid for, so I don't feel the need to own a statue. But I do own statues, all of Wonder Woman. I don't think anyone would give me grief for owning a Wonder Woman statue over an action figure, yet for Transformers it seems to be a forbidden concept. I still find that interesting.

Sure Quintisons dont transform. But how popular are they really. They were here and there in season 3, but theyre real moment was the 1986 movie. So are you prepared to troop build? Any memorable Quintison scen featured at least 3 judges so now youre looking at $900. And if its true they are selling the faces individually as wall mounts for $300 each, are you still interested? How much do you really like Quintisons?

I'd say they're more popular than certain characters of either faction.

I wouldn't troop build, no. However I don't troop build anything. I would gladly buy an aligatorcon, Quint Bailiffs, Quint Prosecutor and/or Quint Scientist to go as a group.

FYI, they aren't selling the faces separately. It'll be a complete statue with all faces which they have said will be able to spin, displaying your face of choice.

Is there really a need to spin? Its a egg with 4 hanging tentacles. Just rotate the whole statue with the preferred face to the front. (Like the IT Quints)

I've gotta agree with you. It would likely keep costs down too.

However I guess it depends on how they design the base, maybe it'll look better from certain angles?

    I don't own a single statue, and I won't be buying Optimus.

I, however, will order that Quintesson the second it goes up, provided I like the sculpt .I'd also buy Kranix, and Arblus, and as many Junkions as they'd wanna throw my way. My Transformers collection is almost entirely dedicated to The Movie, and making those characters is a great way to get my money.

Since this (and a few other) comments mentioned it, I figured I'd throw in:
I am exactly the demographic. There are statue collectors that will probably grab one or two (big characters) for a regular collection, and then there are collectors like me. I've been collecting Transformers for over 20 years, with varying focuses, and the last few years have been odd for me. I'm planning to start a family in the next few years, and one of the things (as a toy collector in general) I've put a lot of thought into is "how can I keep collecting without buying regular toys still?" because I don't want me and my kid to be getting the same stuff, and I don't want to limit them.

My end result, eventually, became statues and 1/6 figures. Anything else I get is super one-off and very dependent on what it is. The one hole for me was Transformers, which has resulted in me just still buying Masterpiece figures (which I do love). Additionally, over time, I became the type of displayer that buys a figure, poses it once, and then has it on the shelf. I rarely repose, I rarely transform my guys, etc. So, statues made sense there, too. And I realized that for Transformers, statues would be the best option for me there, too, because (like I said) I don't even transform them usually. Most TF statues are way too big, but this Legacy of Cybertron line is a blessing. This line will most likely become my primary avenue for TF collecting.

I'm sure I'm not the only one. We're out there.

Can't wait to see the Decepticon lineup. On Facebook they said that they want to do this line with a figure a month starting in June. We'll see if they manage that pace, not often a statue company just pumps them out like that.

Oh, absolutely. I want a Predaking vs. Superion diorama, reminiscent of that of that old artwork that Guido Guidi did.

My most wanted that have yet to get announced is first Predaking. A dio vs Superion would be awesome. I need Thrust and Octane also. I would buy Meansaur and Brutucus.

Yeah, that's true, didn't think about that. They're not really doing anything else besides the two Transformers lines, and I think some Iron Man stuff here and there. I just hope I can keep up with them, honestly. But if they're all priced between $300-$500 each, could make it work.

Blitzwing is definitely my most wanted out of standard characters, Predaking for combiners. Love that they're focusing on dioramas though.

Do we know when the Devastator is coming out? He's not labeled as part of the Legacy collection (I don't think) but is essentially the right scale.
