deluxes are cases of 8. Wave 1 was 3 Jazz, 3 Dreadwind, 1 Slug, 1 Swoop I do believe. This will be 2 Sludge, 2 Snarl, 2 Rippersnapper, 1 Moonracer, 1 Darkwing

 

so i just preorderd all of wave 2 but the leaders, its going to cost 200 usd or 270nzd

lets see if i save any money not buying them new zealand retail masters X 2, $24 legends X 3, 35 deluxe X 5, 150 Voyager X 2, 110 total: 319nzd.

once i add in postage all that is eaten up though so it works out about the same, im fine with that because retail here is just to unpredictable, hell they skipped sentenialprime to give us walls of galvatron

 

If anyone wants Darkwing and Moonracer I don't have any interest in those.

Deluxes have been packed eight per case for ages. Voyagers were reduced from being packed four per case down to two per case with Combiner Wars wave 5.

 

Is this the way it'll be going forward? I assumed it was just that one PotP wave.

 

I assume it will be outside of the Takara Tomy Mall stuff, which will likely have a premium slapped onto them by most e-tailers because of the fact that A. Takara Tomy lost them a bunch of business and they need to make it up somewhere. B. Getting those items unless you have contacts in Japan, is going to be hard as fuck.

 

Locked in a set of Deluxes and Voyagers. More than I would really like to spend, but I'm a combiner whore and distribution is spotty at best for me. It really is worth my gas, time, and aggravation to not worry about finding these in the wild. The aggravation factor alone is worth the additional cost, really. If I happen to see them out and about or on Amazon before these drop, I'll remove them from my loot. Until then, I'm happy and at peace with my decision.

 

I've said this before, but it probably bears repeating: The Takara releases (which aren't part of case assortments) will be a fantastic fallback option for those that have trouble finding the short-packed deluxe figures. Think about how price-inflated Slugslinger was for the first 3-4 months after he was released and all the anger. Now, imagine you can just spend a few extra dollars and pre-order the Takara version (this will be highly relevant for Firestar/Novastar, it appears). It's not ideal, but it's probably worth keeping in mind

 

I ordered the deluxes because they’re more or less store prices. I would have got the Prime Masters but $17 for two $5 figures?? Nope. Voyagers will eventually hit amazon or HTS with better prices.

 

Remind me again how many are short packed so far besides Firestar and Blackwing?

 

Okay, so I'm pretty honked off I can't preorder Tailgate by himself yet, unless I'm not seeing it, somehow. I'm skipping most of this wave except for Tailgate, Landmine/Alpha Trion, and MAYBE Elita-1, but the fact I can't preorder Landmine and Tailgate alone yet is a little wacky to me. I don't think I'll have the hardest time finding them at retail, but I'd really much rather reserve them online and wait for them to show up.

 

Moonracer and Blackwing in W2. (Everything from here on out is presuming the big leak last summer is entirely accurate):

Wave 3 has 3 new characters (Terrorcons) + a Jazz repack (presumably at 2x a piece, but that's speculation), so BBTS will (likely) sell the three together at a bit of a mark-up. W4 is Firestar + 3 repacks. For voyagers, Grimlock gets re-packed in wave 3 (w/Inferno). OP is repacked in W2 and Rodimus in W3 at leader class. BBTS is pretty predictable when cases have repacks, so it's quite possible they'll have suboptimal prices for a variety of figures in the next little while

 

It has to be. Profit is much simpler if you operate in a vacuum: no delivery costs, no advertising, no rent, no taxes, no EFT fees, no shipping cost, no shrink, etc. Most people don't have a clue; they're shocked when my Square Reader adds sales tax...

That's a good point. Price sensitivity is still a dampening factor though. People wringing their hands over $20 deluxes aren't exactly going to line up in droves to pay $30. I think it'll be a rounding error at best.

Edit: uh, yeah, about that, Takara's June/July listings come up as sold out...

 

Had to preorder the entire wave 2 (with the sole exception of Leader SG Rodimus), no real duds in the wave for me and they will all have a place in my classics display. Hopefully will be able to get Novastar/Firestar easily!

 

Preordered everything I wanted. I need to see more of Elita-1 before deciding to get her...

 

Really only wanted the Dinobots, legends, and Rippersnapper. Got them all just the way I wanted. No "buy all these others" packs.  

 

I grabbed all but the leaders and will be happy. I will probably end up dropping the voyagers because I’m on the fence for Elita, might just wait for retail.

 

Yeah I actually had Target pull a case and they SAID it was 8 to a box 2 of each character.
