Yeah could just be a Kree military uniform and she will get her official outfit later. It'll be the Kree vs the Skrulls in this, so we are likely to see a few other Kree outside Mar-Vell.
It's all gonna be fine. Let's NOT be like all the other sites and freak out prematurely based on the FIRST set photos. It's Marvel *and* the MCU... trust them. They haven't royally screwed up anything image wise yet, and I doubt they'll be starting here.
I agree, I think it's a given that by the end she'll be in Red and Blues. I'd almost wager on that being a variant of the Kree outfit she gets as a double homage.
I really dont understand why so many folks jumped so quickly after seeing this green suit. I mean..or its mean to be the Kree outfit or one just to add cgi later. I mean, its the same for every film! xD I am just happy to see the suit finally complete!
I thought this was Captain Marvel, not Green Lantern? I can't wait to see Ryan Reynolds Deadpool make a comparison joke about the costume and Green Lantern.
I'd have preferred her Ms Marvel Lightning Bolt costume, TBH. Besides, don't they already have enough characters with Red and Blue costumes? 'Bout time we had someone wearing green as opposed to actually BEING green.
Or a promotion. The normal suit has two big chevrons on the front, this one only has 1 little one. A grunt suit would probably have more pockets than an officer as well. The Primary Colors were very useful back before digital coloring.
Isn't judging Captain Marvel based off this suit kinda like judging Iron Man based off the Mark 1 suit? "IRON MAN'S SUIT SHOULD BE RED AND YELLOW NOT GREY! AND WHY IS IT SO BULKY, IT SHOULD BE THINNER!"
I only know Captain Marvel from Avengers - AHM, but isn't the history of the female Marvel is that she became the second one after Mar-Vell, who was a Kree officer who betrayed his superiors to save Earth? Did they change this and now the Ms Captain Marvel is a Kree as well, not Carol Danvers? Also, I always wondered, why the hell does the Skrulls look like Green Goblin (including having little purple caps) - or vice versa? I mean apart from both being created by Stan Lee. Is there some in-universe thing maybe that Norman Osborn saw a Skrull once and based the Goblin suit on it?
They've certainly got enough red (or reddish) to go around, which may be why I'm not particularly bothered by this change.
That’s how it is in the comics and EMH, yes. And I’m certain that’s how they’re doing it here, keep in mind this only just an out of context set photo. Jude Law’s character is rumored to be Mar-Vell. So her whole being a Human-Kree hybrid is likely. And the resemblance between the Skrulls and Green Goblin is probably a coincidence.
I like the throwback to OG Marvel with those colors. Not too thrilled with bulky costume though, hopefully it gets a bit more slimmed down in the final product. Carol really doesn't need that armored look.
Something possibly interesting I noticed: - many MCU humans use red on their outfits (Iron Man, Spider-Man, Thor though he's Asgardan, Wanda, Dr Strange, Ant-Man) and a few notably use black (Natasha, TChalla) - the MCU aliens use green skin/clothes (Gamora, Drax, Mantis, and likely Mar-Vell) - the X-Men (Fox) have blue skin/clothes (Mystique, Beast, Nightcrawler, Apocalypse, and in two films the X-Men suits) Coincidental, but it's cool how things turned out that way. The other Capt Marvel has a lightning bolt on his suit. More significantly, it's fanservicey. I like the Warbird suit too, but there is that against it.
Perhaps for the same reason as classic characters using lots of Red, Blue, and Yellow colors, a lot of them use green and purple. Super Skrull Green Goblin The Impossible Man Drax the Destroyer
I actually kinda like the colors for being more... I dunno, is unique the right word? Like I wouldn’t mind seeing her in that uniform alongside the Avengers. A little extra green.
Maybe I’m just biased because green has always been my favorite color, but I love this green suit on Captain Marvel.
