I'd file a claim, personally. That is not a 'replacement parts' issue.

It gets easier each time you transform that joint. I was afraid I would snap something the first time I transformed him also.

Agreed. If it were limited to one part, I'd be willing to accept that he's reaching out to the manufacturer for parts, but you've got at least three: leg, Megatron gun, and head, and I can see a couple of scratches on his chest in your top down pic along with a crushed box which is considered part of the package with collector's items like these. Nothing short of a complete replacement is sufficient. I'd reach out to him one more time and let him know that parts are not going to cut it and see if he'll replace/refund it. If not: claim.

That poor bot looks like he fell down a flight of stairs!

That looks like it was destroyed in shipping. The seller should refund or replace and file a claim with his shipping company. Replacement parts does not the mustard cut.

I wonder how the freaging frag that thing was packaged to have suffered THAT.

Plus certain parts appear to be defective and not due to mail handling....

That really is shitty, but part of it depends on their policies. It would be really hard to file any kind of insurance claim, so basically they'd have to eat it. You can't really blame them for what happens in transit. I've had the usps flat out fucking lose packages and mark them as delivered... not a damn thing I can do about it unless it's insured.

Part of the chance we take buying cheap shit from china, unfortunately :/

I think a complete replacement is needed here. I feel sorry for that little bot: they have played football with him!

No, that's what eBay and PayPal protection is for. Eating the odd cost for damaged goods is part of doing business. If you can't stand by what you sell, don't sell stuff. Doesn't matter if it's your fault or not. If it's a concern, ensure your shipping has at least some insurance included to cover cases like this.

There seems to be this new trend of retailers/sellers wanting all the benefits of selling goods without any of the responsibilities.

Damn that is beyond replacement parts that a replacement of the entire figure. Like someone day I would file a claim.

But damn that figure went through a shipment battle.

I ordered thru Baba and the figure I got was missing one piece. Took well over a month to get that sorted. The whole figure needs to be replaced or he should refund you money. Sucks either way.

Hey guys, thanks to all for the feedback and advice!
I dunno why i wasn't getting notifications, so I thought i hadn't got any answers.

    Two questions:

What's the window to file a claim on ebay? (the Estimated delivery date was Jan 17, i got it a few days earlier).

Speculative, because I do think a full replacement is warranted... but... Is it possible, and if so how difficult, to disassemble the lower legs in case they send the lower leg replacement?

Other than that I'm ready to file a claim.

    Thanks!

the only problem with buying stuff from overseas directly is when it doesn't go right, like this. Most retailers will ask return the product, but coming from China, it cost a lot to ship from here to there, so they'll ask to be reimbursed. It's the downside of buying off ebay vs someone local. It doesn't cost as much for someone local to eat return shipping. That's likely why he's trying to just send parts as he can send a small epacket of parts. Worst case, you can definitely file an ebay or paypal claim. I believe the paypal claim is 180 days, iirc. Make sure you keep a record of your conversations, as both ebay and/or paypal will require them, or they'll make you sit through it all over again.

Those parts are pretty easy to replace, assuming he sends the whole lower leg assembly. If not, you'll have to swap out some pins, which can be tedious if you haven't done it.

Request replacement. If not forthcoming, open a claim. You've been sent some warehouse worker's football. It's not your fault.

It shouldn't Be all that hard to replace if you get the parts. I've bought from Baba many times and had issues on a couple of occasions. He is legit and has followed through with getting me parts in the past. filing a claim against him damages his reputation and honestly it doesn't appear that he's at fault over shipping damage so give him some time.

I would like to point out again, since you're talking about replacement parts, there appeared to be more damage in your photos than just those parts. I pointed out what appears to be a pretty bad scratch on top of his chest. Personally I wouldn't settle for less than a complete replacement.

Just received my Cloud 9 Shockwave from Taobao, it seem I'm missing the extra articulate hand that can replace the translucent hand. I contacted the seller and he said maybe is a reissued version so no extra hand. Just want to confirm is it true the reissued Cloud 9 Shockwave doesn't come with the extra hand?

I don't think he does? Considering how his gun hand works I don't see how it could?

I got the early release. It came with the hand but no Megatron. The reissue doesn't come with the hand. I don't know anything about him coming with Megatron.
