Honestly, that wouldn’t have been hard at all. It’s just a Wonder Woman-like outfit with a snake themed hood. That’s all they had to do, and that would fit this universe

So, what's bad about this exactly? How is it bad for MOTU?
Given that the franchise mixes elements of fantasy and sci-fi, can you honestly say that this would look out of place in a modern MOTU movie?
    I can't.

Also, how many of you missed the whole "concept art" portion?

Hey, if it's not used, it could be used as a potential basis for Roboto.

This isn't a situation like Transformers where it reboots itself every few years. The characters have maintained a consistency, and if the film makers don't care about getting the characters right I think it's fair people should be skeptical of how faithful the movie will be to the source material.

Okay since we are asking questions. How does this reference MOTU in any way? Please sight one detail that makes anyone think they are looking at a MOTU “battle-suit”

So you can see why MOTU fans might think it sucks then. Got it.

I love a mech suit as much as the next man, but I feel I'm missing a connection here. Is this from some forgotten part of the canon that came from comics or the 2002 series? Because I personally do not remember such things in the original.

This was exactly my reaction. Looks just like every CGI robot in any medium ever.
It might make a neat Rio Blast though.

Recent superhero movies have shown you can take a corny-looking costume and make it look cool yet realistic enough to suspend disbelief. And He-Man fans want to see swordfighting and magic. Why the decision to resort to "battle suits"???

Oh shit, maybe Michael Shannon could play Skeletor! That would be an experince. Have a hell of a time living up to Frank Langella though.

That is if they even have Skeletor in the movie!

I vote for Neal McDonough as Man At Arms.

Maybe that photo was removed, but all I see is a weird insectoid load lifter-like robotic suit... is that Teela's battle suit, really? Looks like something from Mass Effect... too unornamented and streamlined to be from MOTU which is space-fantasy, in case the writers forgot.

Btw, I never understood why the toy Teela had that silly cobra cosplay costume... She never had it on the show - new or old - as far as I know. And why would a good guy dress like a snake, when they were fighting the Serpent-Men on a recurring basis? Seems like tempting fate with friendly fire. :D

In the comics and early toy concepts, The Goddess was the original version of the Sorceress, as well as the template for Teela. The Filmation cartoon references this by giving the Sorceress an animal-themed costume (but combining her with Zoar the falcon instead of using the snake motif) and making Teela her daughter.

What the hell is that? :sly2:  That's not Teela. I'm getting more and more disappointed. You people making this movie are dumb. How difficult is it to make a fantasy movie out of a popular fantasy cartoon with tons of existing lore LAID Right Out For You? That's like being given your grandma's famous recipe for enchiladas and turning it into a half-burnt and soggy enchilada/cacciatore hybrid. You have dishonored Greyskull!

    Here’s what’s really stupid:
Assuming the movie will be more faithful to the source material than that photo suggests, you’d think they would share a photo that would get fans EXCITED, instead of something so completely foreign as to turn them off of the movie.

I mean seriously, show a bit of He-man’s armor, or his sword or something. All this shows is that the people making it are totally clueless, and this could end up like the Jem and the Holograms movie.

There's always the possibility that they're deliberately trolling or misleading us, so that we'll be excited when it turns out to be even halfway faithful to the source material. But I'm not gonna bet on that.

I never liked Teela's snake outfit either.

This link shows that Man-At-Arms had a variety of mech suits, so it wouldn't be out of place in MOTU:
    Man-At-Arms – Master of weapons! (1982)

But TOB I would have preferred that the producers had shown something more mystical.

Teela and the first wave of toys came out before the cartoon -- so her figure and a lot of the other merchandise had her in the Snake Armor look.

I suppose a better question would be is, why did Filmation change her design?

On that line of thinking -- why would the good guys even want Castle Grayskull since it looks so much like Skeletor? They should have just let him have it, I'm sure he would have been cool with that.

Skeletor: Then it's decided! I will take Castle Greyskull, and the Sorceress can live on Snake Mountain.
Teela: Now wait a minute! We never agreed to--
    Skeletor: Silence!
King Hiss: What about the Snake Men?
Skeletor: Eh! You can bugger off to Etheria with Hordak. Good riddance!
