It was a question- I am not a car enthusiast and do not follow the movies closely. I was asking how accurate he was in both mode and what liberties HasTak took. A few ppl suggested his truck mode doesnt match up

 

Im not too sure about the bumper but I'd imagine it ends up in his chest.
His windscreen splits in two and is folded onto the back of his biceps, along with the rooftop.

His transformation looks like it'll be a lot of fun. I'm just a bit worried that all the arm kibble will get in the way when posing him.

 

Ah, gotcha. Nor am I, lol. I don't have any hang ups about having an extreme accuracy of the alt mode. I don't have any gripes about the inaccuracies of MPM Bee's camaro, and this Topkick looks great to me. With MPM-04, the size of his gas tanks REALLY bother me.

 

Dumb question and apologies if already asked- it looks like the middle of the grill with the GMC on it is a separate piece, so how is the GMC logo appearing in two halves on his chest / shoulder armor?

 

Theory is that the outer parts of the grill flip around to show the gmc logo.

It will probably be a similar way to how they made the faction logo work him.

Darn. I was hoping they would have gotten the Autobot logo on the back of MPM Ironhide... More than that, the backside detailing isn't all that accurate as I thought.

 

All things considered it’s still pretty good. He doesn’t really have a backpack at all. I wonder if you could get one of those raised autobot decals online and just spray it black? Unless it would affect the transformation, then it would end up being a sweet little detail for you.

MPM-04 came pretty darn close.

Edit: especially with the ability to have a fan mode config.

 

As do I. And I’m sure the same will be true for the bots I mentioned. However...if ironhide is any indication...the general fandom sees the movie designs through a sort of “humanoid filter”, as such I worry how people will react to screen accurate characters going forward.

 

More and more this seems to be a masterpiece in name only

 

For contrast, I think these base molds represent all the mainline iterations for the deluxe voyager and leader class sizes up to the new MPM. Excludes retools and repaints.



Thoughts?

 

Wow! It really shows how no-one of the figures have actually been that accurate! They each have a few things going for them, but have a lot that is wrong.
Man MPM-06 is a cut above the rest in every sense!

I think this figure is glorious, toes and all.

 

MPM-6 makes every other Ironhide look like it was designed by a 6-year-old.

 

The upgrade that we get with MPM Ironhide is massive.

 

I've been away from TFs for a while - still haven't seen the last two movies (and don't plan to), didn't care to watch the new series, and haven't collected anything.

It's been a long time now since I've bought anything TF wise, but when I saw this I knew I wasn't going to be able to resist it. I'll get the masterpiece TF 1 Autobots, and if they go to ROTF I'd get a Sideswipe if they made him.
