Yeah I have Star Saber and I'm tempted into buying this God Ginrai and CW Liokaiser to complement him, while waiting for a proper Deathsaurus.

 

Im kinda of shocked no one has done deathsaurus yet

 

On a similar note, if anybody is still looking to get the Cab and Minerva from this set, there's a seller on ebay with what appears to be a set of them for 89$ plus 12$ shipping from Japan. They've got 100% feedback so I figure its legit. I mean its not cheap by any means, but better than 70 or 80$ each...

God, I'm glad that I sold my original LG Super Ginrai and God Bomber to buy this set. It hasn't arrived yet but seeing how much the Titan Masters are going for, getting the complete package seems like a better deal.

Seriously, I'm not that interested in just TMs of Minerva and Cab but I would feel bad for not owning them either (I just wish that I had bodies for them).

 

Yeah its starting to look as if buying the set might end up being the only cost-effective way to get the exclusive Titan masters. Of course, Takara may very well decide to release them again with their bodies if the set sells well enough.

 

Someone please make bodies for all the Headmaster juniors from Masterforce. I hope they really do, surprise Hasbro Exclusives or Takara, idc, just make em.

Aaaaand look what finally arrived!


I bought the original releases of LG Super Ginrai and Godbomber just before the announcement of this exclusive set but I KNEW that I needed this because of the additions this includes. Fortunately I was able to sell my initial purchases in Peru to fund this one and I don't regret it at all.


One of the most attractive aspects of this set are the clear windows in Ginrai, they really look great and definitely puts him above the first release. The chrome in Godbomber is equally eye-catching and totally deserves the "exclusive" status.


The Minerva and Cab Titan Masters are a nice addition (although I'm still debating if they're worth the more expensive cost), the paint is well-applied and represent the characters from the anime faithfully. They also look really good along with Ginrai and Shuta.


I've always digged how these TMs are incorporated into the vehicles, it seems like the plan was always to create two other TMs to go with Godbomber considering the three sits it has (which makes the original Takara release even more frustrating, greedy bastards).


The vehicles go together perfectly just like the first versions but the true improvements start to appear once we go into robot mode.


For one, Super Ginrai is much, MUCH more stable than the first version, mostly because of the ankles that have a much more solid lock that allows them to sustain its weight in a more effective manner. The clear windows look fantastic here as well.


The improvements are even more obvious in Godbomber though because I actually was able to transform this thing without it falling apart. I remember clearly that the limbs from the first release were pretty loose in both vehicle and robot mode which made the toy a bit frustrating to play with. Here however, they're much more sturdy to the point that you can pose the figure without many problems.


And they still make quite the team.


Here it is what many people want to see, God Ginrai in his full glory and my opinion hasn't changed a lot from the original release. Is still an amazing piece of display, a greatly imposing figure that is the perfect evolution from all the previous experiments that Hasbro/Takara had concerning super modes and combination. I just love how this looks.

But boy, oh boy, they still haven't fixed some of the biggest issues.

The ankles are no longer the problem but for some reason the people in charge didn't think it was necessary to make the knees stronger and that's where they completely failed since they are not made to sustain the weight of both toys and constantly lose the battle against them. This is not a toy that you will pose too much, this is not a toy that you will play with too much either and that's pretty sad considering how cool it looks.

That being said, this is still a beautiful robot and I don't regret buying it at all. I just hope that Takara/Hasbro learn from their mistakes here and do a better super mode/combining figure in the future. Now, I just hope that Perfect Effect releases a Ginrai with clear windows for this set and someone makes bodies for Minerva, Cab and Shuta.

Oh, and there's also an obligatory bonus once again.



... Sakamoto has issues concerning Cab.

 

I bought just the Super Ginrai by itself off ebay for $70 shipped. That's all I wanted. I'm not interested in Minerva and Cab Titanmasters sans their transtectors. And While Godbomber looks nice, he appears way too flimsy for my liking. Ginrai looks like a good solid figure and I'm glad they fixed the heels.

 

I can match that deal if anybody wants one. $70 shipped in the USA.

 

IMO God Ginrai looks fantastic in pics, but no doubt the toy should be stronger. Still think is a lot of money for what we are getting.

 

Hard to notice but LG-EX Ginrai red plastic colour is slightly darker. This made LG-EX feels more premium than normal version.

 

Hmm. I thought the color red plastic used for both is the same? Interesting.

 

If compare both Ginrai version arms and shoulders, you can notice the differences.
Also LG-EX God Bomber's wing changed to molded red plastic. Normal version was plastic painted in red.

 

Oh.. I see. Perhaps side by side comparison pics can be shown to see the difference. I was apprehensive to get the new reissue due to the minor changes.

 

Figured I'd post a few comparison shots of the new Titan Master Minerva (on a customized Chromedome body) next to G1 Minerva.

Honestly, while I have fond memories of playing with the G1 Minerva, I've gotta say I think the Titan Master version is probably a way better figure overall. But there's something to be said for nostalgia, haha.

 

My Super Ginrai from this set that I purchased on ebay arrived. I still think the feet design is a little wonky but the added reinforcement to the heels makes this figure a gazillion times better. Overall, I really like the figure and I'm glad I picked it up. $70 shipped was a fair price IMO. I still don't regret passing on the rest of this set. All the reviews I've seen of God Bomber make him look too flimsy and the combined God Ginrai mode looks wobbly too. I like Super Ginrai as is and he'll look great next to the upcoming LG Overlord.

 

Not bad, I'm just finishing up my Jrs as well (Cab still needs mods to the Fire Truck mode)

 

I’m debating on grabbing this ... along with the PE kit that upgrades his wings and the extra guns. Shits just pricey ! Dam..
