Artist Ken Christiansen has shared more of his Combiner Wars Packaging Art this week and we collect them for your viewing pleasure in our forums.

The images were shared via Ken Christiansen’s Facebook account as usual and we can appreciate the full and complete body art of Combiner Wars characters. This week, Ken completes the art of the Protectobots group with sketches of Streetwise and Rook. He also starts sharing images of the Combaticons starting with Onslaught and Blast Off. It's interesting to notice that Blast Off has a similar Fireflight (G1 toy styled) head on this art.

If they had used that head on Blast Off, there would have been a lot less rioting.

 

Man that head would have worked so much better for Blast Off.

 

America's infrastructure has still never been able to recover after the Great Blast Off Riots of 2016.

 

This artwork makes it seem as though they were intending to use Fireflight's head sculpt initially. I remember when we first saw the renders for CW Blast Off, the robot mode used the Slingshot head... However, the vehicle mode shot appeared to have Fireflight's. Must've been a sudden, late-game change.

 

I know right?

 

I wish we had gotten a Rook with fists like that, able to hold guns, moving the (what is it actually? blasters?) 5mm port part next to the hand instead of replacing the hand.

 

I could've sworn Blastoff's art used the Slingshot head; did they change it before release?

 

I feel like firefly and blast-off\'s heads got swapped somewhere down the the line, but no none corrected it.

 

Yup, Blast Off's head was changed in the final art.

 

*sigh*... Would it really have killed them to have removed Hotspot's lightbars from Onslaught's knees? It's such a successful retool otherwise, and they look so out of place.

Man if that Leader Armada Megatron had those claws, that would've been so cool.

Blast Off of course was a Firefly repaint and not Slingshot. I had a feeling they switched so they could get more mileage of that retool.
