It looks PHENOMENAL! (In that it does indeed look entirely natural, you animation wizard you!) :rock

Lol thanks! I think if I'd actually filmed his real actual transformation, it wouldn't look very natural at all, if that makes sense :drunk

Plus I generally find that the animators handled the transformations very well in those early days (logical, detailed, thought-through); especially considering most character models were quite different to the toys, so they were basically invented with no physical figure to draw from.

It is glorious! Did you have to photoshop/cheat a lot of it?

Edit: Nevermind, just saw the previous post about the "cheating".

Yeah in fact the arms folding up are about the only thing not altered! I made the faux chest get bigger and become the real car windows/roof, and of course had to find a way of not having his legs splay out/rotate around at the hip.

    BRAVO!!!!

Fantastic work, once again, OT! Sunstreaker’s transformation as you’ve presented it does indeed look very natural and fluid. It’s great to see these two together in your work, I’m looking forward to seeing what else you put together with MP-39. I’m also curious to find out if his level of articulation ends up being helpful when recreating frames.

    Excellent work, good sir!

Thanks, and I'm sure it will be... stuff like double jointed elbows and knees make it a lot easier to animate (not having to cheat after the fact with Photoshop :lol ).
Sorry I only do Jelly Babies :lolol

Really digging all the symmetrical movements in the Sunstreaker transformation. Pleasingly robotic. :)

Just out of curiosity, which MP figures that you have stop motion animated have required the least amount of cheating to get a toon accurate transformation?

Just noticed how you made Sideswipe's shoulder cannon "telescope" for transformation. I think a lesser animator would have just made it disappear between frames. Well done sir, well done!

Thanks for the kind words :thumb
Definitely... just a decent Cliffjumper away!
Thanks, I'm pleased with how it turned out.
Interesting question... I'd say guys like Grimlock and the seekers, because they're closest to the original G1 transformations. Anything with faux parts or elaborate transformations needs more cleaning up.
    :thumb
Lol cheers, that was actually inspired by the original drawn frames, which show a similar thing going on.
