Don't get your hopes up about Tailgate, once the timer is set on the chamber that's it, the systems won't allow it be ause of contamination. I find it peturbing that the only bots we saw after Fort Max landed beside Scrounge were Decepticons, but we don't know exactly who left in the ship, we only saw Tailgate and Kaput
Red Alert is cool as fuck! Both design-wise and in terms of finally getting to do something effective. Probably about to die, though. Genuinely intrigued to see what happens with Tailgate - hoping it's not just a straightforward rescue.
Oh, poor Scrounge, saved from death only to get ganked by Decepticons, like, a month(ish?) after waking up. Nice surprise seeing the Luna 1 crew, and mmmm-yeah, love that Milney goodness!
I nearly got used to JL's art, and then I get a hot sweet shot of Milne across the eyes and remember what happiness is.
When did everyone start hating Tailgate? I love that ol' baby. I kind of expect Fort Max to just rip it open, bare handed. But that probably won't happen.
When his storyline got extended past Getaway manipulating him. Past that point, he gained weird powers for Deus Ex Machina reasons, had a soppy relationship with Cyclonus (whereas before it was genuinely touching) and took up a lot of panel time establishing that he was a danger to those around him, just so that we could have a forced 'break up' scene. We like Tailgate - but like Chromedome and Rewind, it would have been better if he'd had his one big story arc and then shuffled to the back of the pack.
Wow one my favorite TFs actually got to kill a Decepticon, and in a cool way no less. That new design is great!
It's amazing just how much of a difference your art makes Alex. Prowl's eye being fixed was always an error, the tradebacks had that fixed. His eye was always meant to be busted up. Yeah it's a shame this clearly took place after Prowl left to go back to Optimus Prime and get his new team assembled. I would've liked one more adventure with the Luna-1 team. They should never have been a couple period. Chromedome and Rewind being shuffled to the back isn't a good thing though. Honestly I could live with them being written out as deciding to settle down and have a family, not wanting to risk more things going horribly awry.
I had no idea Milne would be doing the art for Unicron - given the Rom crossover, this and now Unicron, im now thinking that IDW took AMilne off Lost Light, thinking that the series would do well anyway as the story has a very loyal fanbase and pretty stable readership - In order to free him up to work on Rom vs trsnsformers and Unicron, and whatever else. Because, really - is anyone else able to do these two justice? He's IDW's best chance to maximise the sales of thr books. Im not sure how good or rven well received Rom Vs would have been otherwise?
The art on this is quite good. I feel like whatever story-wise is going on in these three pages feels kind of rushed and not sure why. Maybe the sudden info dump as to why they’re there? Oh well.
For those of us who frequented the now defunct IDW boards they were regarded as very pro James Roberts boards. You really couldnt say anything negative without being made feel a fool for making such ridiculous comments. But at the risk of being called a fool here I find Milne sometimes crowds too much into certain panels. To the point where at times its hard to work out exactly what's going on. I've been rereading ROM v TFS and tbh some panels are pretty crowded. Look there's no doubt the man can draw. Some of his work is phenomenal but I'm more a Casey coller Geoff senior fan. This looks great but I'd love an issue done by those guys.
I missed those boards. I wasn't always a fan of Roberts but he did grow on me. Same with Milne but considering how much I hate the art that's currently done on Ongoing OP. Milne is a God by comparison.
