Wow, how did I miss this news through the holidays?

Placed an order knowing this will probably be on clearance come summertime. The design of the spine kibble... I still don’t understand why it couldn’t be... better. Well, hell I supported the designers for the Lost Exo Realm. For the money, there are better options, but I stayed loyal.

Hey Spence, so the whole Kar Krash thing ... I should just let it go now, ey?

I'm not sure if it's the contrarian in me, but the umbrella (as someone else called it) is growing on me. To an extent, I'm somewhat glad this figure has some character that differentiates it from other Snarl toys - one of the reasons I decided on LER for my Dinobots in the first place was the not-so-G1-y look to them.

I can respect that. And I know, as a team I’ll look fondly at the dedicated shelf the LER will occupy. But we’re talking 100 for Ultra class figures here. This is to be my ultimate classics representation here. Throw that extra hinge in there, man. I digress; I am not designing, promoting, and releasing these. Can’t shake the feeling that this was more of a cost cutting measure than the usually for fans by fans full blown no cutting corners throwback FP stuff. To be fair, I don’t have the toy in hand. I respect the adage, no one’s forcing you to buy it. I just remember the good ol days when an FP release was an automatic hit with me. Here, I’m just limping to the end of a finish line.

Well here's hoping that they'll fix this with a new back panel in the near future.
They can surely offer it to those of us who can't stand the sheltered head look (that's me) and who prefer something a little more conventional.
Probably sell it separately on their site or offer it as a fix with a purchase of some other new FP figure.
They gave out torsos and hip fixes for the earlier LER releases and I'm confident they'll do likewise for this if enough fans make some noise.

See that just it Datstro... it’s just like the Trianix Alpha Shield offering. That used to be a free gift from FansProject... offering an altered panel for sale later down the line is a 15 dollar unnecessary Mona Lisa smirk. It’s like a Last Jedi unnecessary three stooges poke to the eyeball of the dedicated installed base. It’d be like if trump went to the trailer parks and started badmouthing Joe Dirt.

I get what you're saying... hopefully they'll offer it for free with new purchases and/or you just pay the shipping costs like what Maketoys do.

To Fansproject: I don't mind grabbing a 6 pack recolor of the Melee Masters if you were to include a piece to fix that ugly crown/head-cover. A set of Melee Masters will go down well with those who only purchased your Diaclone LER dinos (can Spence relay this message to them? Lol)

See that sounds like a good idea for those who like the little weapon guys. I wasn't all that impressed by them. The first two had the weird handle off the head thing going on. But I would be down to buy a set of replacement blue swords for the first three and they could pack the hinged spine with those. I think as far as complaints with the Diaclone set goes the only one i have is the mismatched red and blue swords. On the whole i'm very happy with my FP dino sets.

Posted this in the regular release thread. Happy with this guy and the hood has grown on me. Tail is really pointy.

Anyone willing to sell their copy of the little diaclone driver that was included with Pinchar? Please send me a PM with your asking price if you’re interested in selling.

Also looking for the diaclone driver that came with the convention exclusive Severo as well.

I do have a few extra copies of the melee masters that came with the retail releases of the FP dinos.

    Pincer
So I got Pinchar today. He is really cool. Except for the obvious backpack/hood issue.

    A modification:

The modification requires some cutting. I would prefer not to cut up my figure even if its for the better. The piece that gets cut appears to be removable and is cast in black plastic.

I dont know any shapeways designers, but if youre out there this is a great way to make some easy money. Lots of people are buying Pinchar to complete the set but want to fix this aesthetically unpleasing issue. It might be a good investment to buy Pinchar and watch this video. Im sure you could cast a new piece to replace the one that needs cutting.

Id buy it. If anyone else would like to see it happen please voice your support or reach out to anyone who can make it happen....

You don't have to cut it. There's a configuration that you can do that would lessen the cowl thingy... You should check the LER-07 thread.

Cutting it also cheaper than buying a whole new piece off shapeways, since it would actually someone designing it

The fix less than half an hour with a dremel. I did it twice, since I got the regular version after my diaclone version came in. Ten minutes or so the second time

A plastic piece on shapeways usually costs 10-15 bucks. There's gotta be some guy on shapeways that would spend $80 on a figure just for the part, knowing his new design would easily bring in $1000 or more from Pinchar buyers.

Besides, I dont want to devalue the figure. If I ever decide to sell my collection, I dont want to run into the one guy who likes the hood and not get a sale. Some collectors are very weird. They want their figures stock no matter how awful they look. So a temporary part is a good solution.

Can you post the link. I only found this thread. I know you can wiggle the hood down between the tail halves, but then it sticks out super far...

Its a shame the guy with the "unmodded" pic doesnt want to show off the back configuration. I can slide it between the two tail pieces. But then it sticks out of his back for miles...

I'm telling you it's REALLY not hard. There's now a video that shows how to do it. Solves all the problems
