Can't believe I'm jumping headfirst into this dumpster fire of a "conversation", but here goes

"Bu-bu-bu-but aren't you still technically scalping that water then?"
REALLY?! That's your awesome solution to entice people to 'stop being a scalper'? Standing on the side of the road for days like some jag and selling water as if that's a 100% foolproof moneymaking scheme?? Not even considering:
-the weather conditions. Too hot/too cold outside/rain/snow/frostbite/heatstroke/etc
-time (as in "complete and utter waste of")
-pretty sure police/the IRS won't take to kindly to your unauthorized/unlicensed business practice, and standing out there for days makes you quite visible
-customer bought your water, and by coincidence got food poisoning that same day and started puking his guts out. Now he blames you for it and sues you for everything you own. Whoops, there goes dem profits! 'Merica.
-you just look like a knob

Look, I despise scalpers as much as the next collector (ie. those buying up entire store stock and trying to flip at crazy mark-ups), but clearly Rated X is hell-bent on labelling anyone who re-sells/makes even the slightest profit a scalper. Pretty sure when people buy extras to flip (and maybe @lordsmurf can back me up on this one) is because of the convenience factor. You're there buying one anyways, why not pick up a second knowing it can net you a little bit of extra pocket change. Sure beats the indignity of standing on the side of the road.

Yes, it literally is just you who thinks this water bottle biz a great idea. Everyone please stop responding to this guy, best to just ignore at this point (gonna take my own advice) #themoreyouknow

    This is hilarious to read...

So far I counted like 3 guys who said “I’m not a scalper. I hate scalpers! All I do is buy 1-2 extra of a hot, in demand toy to sell later at a slightly higher cost than retail.”

That actually wouldn't be scalping. If he was buying them to immediately flip (while they're hot/in demand) for a significantly higher cost, that would be scalping. Of course, while meeting the technical definition, if it's a common mass-release toy, it's difficult to refer to that as scalping with a straight face.

At this point, I keep expecting someone to post a pic of a Firecon wielding a hatchet trying to literally scalp Grotusque.

Yeah, that happens a lot. Interests and/or plans change, and that custom you thought you were going to do ends up being an extra figure, and hey! It actually sells for more than you paid for it.

Honestly...this is a tired ass topic. I wasn't even going to bother....but....seriously? Honor? No one likes scalpers. But what people do with their money is of no business nor any concern of yours. The more you spend your time focusing on what other people do with their money, the less time you're going to have on finding that TOY you wanted. That's right...TOY. I used to get upset at scalpers because I couldn't find what I wanted. So I resorted to buying online. So did the scalpers. Or maybe they've been buying online before I even realized the convenience of it. Who cares anymore. THESE ARE TOYS. If they want it that badly to where they have a plethora of F5 replacement keys at their disposal, or they wanna stand in line waiting for the store to open before you had a chance to get there, or if they wanna dedicate gas and other time in their hunt...then that's them. I got a life to live. I got better things to worry about. I can't devote any of my valuable time to care about someone who's wanting to flip toys for however great or meager of a profit they may be getting. But if you've got the time to care, hey...that's great.

Honestly, you don't need these toys to live. They aren't going to feed you, wipe your ass after you go to the restroom, they're not going to wake you up in the morning so you can get to work on time, they're not going to pay the bills for you etc etc. In short, they are NOT a necessity nor should this topic be argued as if they were, nor should this topic be put up on some pedastol as if "honor" really played into it. If you're going to start pulling the "honor" card, then I'm going to have to assume you have your priorities kinda messed up here. This is just a hobby. Not a way of life dude.

This. Sometimes you win, sometimes you dont. Why should not having the chance to get toys affect your daily responsibilities? madness I say.
