FoC Starscream: Right knee snapped right in half, right out of the package.

The Transmutate build-a-fig from the BW 10th anniversary line - part of it anyway, pretty much right out of the box.

"This leg looks like it's supposed to move" *WRENCH!* "... nope."

 

Potp Starscream. Within 30 minutes out of the box. His shoulder ratchet,while trying to pose "legs" in torso mode.

 

Christmas 1985 or 86, broke G1 Whirl straight out of the box trying to transform him for the first time. Broke his arm clean off. Returned it to Circus World shortly after, but they were still picked clean from Christmas so all I had to chose from was between Silverbolt and Roadbuster. I picked Silverbolt so I could make Superion. Eventually, I did...in 1998! The first and only transformer to ever break in my hands.

 

When I started collecting again in the late '90s, I bought a G1 Skyhammer from either eBay or the ATT marketplace. Unfortunately, knowledge of GPS was not quite as widespread at that time so I didn't know about it...and half that frickin' toy is gold plastic.
A couple minutes after opening the package, I tried pegging the gun into the small robot's shiny gold fist...and half the fist came off.

Very disappointing, but considering how hard I was pushing on his arm, I now know I should be grateful only a bit of his fist broke. Could have been the whole arm.

 

MMC Nova Prime. I didn't quite get from the instructions how the clamshell assembly around the cab worked and thinking it was just a but stuck I ripped that plastic (as in literally tore, not breaking but tearing) in the spine assembly almost in half. I kind of fixed it with some sanding and superglue but only transformed him back in to super robot mode then haven't messed with it since.

 

In an hour with the Prime Vehicon. Stupid thing was mis transformed and what the instructions said were completly different then the toy....  

Oh and Scalpel and Steelbane should be on there too. As soon as I opened the box they were broke. Not sure how that happened

 

I don't count toys broken in the box or those prone to breakage due to GPS or other age-related destructive problems.

So, that leaves me with Microchange Laserbeak, who I tossed onto concrete in an effort to make him fly. Wing snapped off. Got a second one and committed the same act with the same result. No more Laserbeaks for this 7-year-old.

Can't really say I've "broken" any other toys all that quickly. There's been a few where I've bent something too far on my first transformation and created stress marks on hinges. I try to avoid that as much as possible...and is one of the reasons I still yearn for the G1 bricks at times as those endure my ham-fisted converting practices much better than modern figures.

 

I snapped a tab/peg on Prime Deluxe Megatron on the first transformation right out of the box; however, it didn't effect the figure or the transformation, so huh.

G1 Optimus Prime, on my birthday in 1984 fell off the table and both smokestacks snapped right off. I was at my grandparents for the party and left it with my grandfather, who fixed it somehow.

 

Beast Wars Megatron, thats my GPS boi.

 

Animated Lockdown. I broke his wrist on his FIRST transformation, which was about ~1 minute after I opened it.

I thought the hands could be straight on the arm, LIKE ANY NORMAL TOY. I wasn't aware his hands are supposed to point inwards somewhat. The hand snapped right off when I tried to rotate it straight. It didn't even take that much force. Certainly no more force than the average force you'd put on a hand hinge to straighten it.

 

My G1 childhood Megatron broke the second I showed it to my wife and let her hold it.
I gave it to her, it was fine. A second later she was holding it in 2 hands separated.

 

First day of owning Human Alliance Roadbuster back during DOTM one of his missile pods just snapped off. No fixing that.

 

MP-11, Starscream. First transformation the right stabilizer connector sheared off. That toy needs to be retired.

I bought a KO to replace him. The quality was leaps and bounds better than the official Takara.

 

G1 megatron. Got him for my birthday when I was a kid, opened him, broke him in two.

 

My Cyberverse Vehicon's arm joint snapped with almost no pressure at all, not even a minute fully removing him from the package. I loved that thing for those fifty seconds or so  

 

G1 Soundwave.

I was Transforming it and the window piece snapped. It was in a bad condition so...

 

Generations Brainstorm.. headmaster's head snapped off trying to pull off his head first transformation. :/
