"Stryker 2" from wave 1 is definitely Bumblebee; the Japanese listing doesn't use the code name. Barricade could be one of the others though.
It looks cool but damn thats one ugly mug. Its like they took a ninja turtle and smashed his face with a sledgehammer. They definitely took a few liberties with the voyager toys to make him more visually appealing.
Man, that looks utterly amazing! Obviously mistransformed, but that's to be expected with a Hasbro presentation. They got so many details soooo right! Bee is definitely too big but I'll simply display him separately, together with Barricade. Oh my, what great a great time to be a Transformers fan! Now bring on MPM Starscream and Ratchet!
IS ratchet confirmed to be coming? If not I will get the iron Warrior Dmk style Ratchet and display with Ha jazz for the whole autobot tf 1 cast
Holy shit, they nailed it. Only kinda meh part is his little toes sticking out in alt mode. That's unfortunate, but everything else is spot on!
Like Bumblebee, Ironhide and Barricade look to have a ton of those Masterpiece moments in their design and transformation. The wheels, the chests... amazing. If anything, these couple of figures have convinced me, even more so than ever before, that if they had put a bit more thought and time into Prime, we would have had the ultimate transformers figure.
This looks incredible, and the new pictures of Barricade make him look so much better too. I can't believe how accurate they are managing to get these MPM figures, and I hope they continue making them well into the future. For those concerned with the back kibble and the cannons being removable, the cannons are on the wrong way round for one so i'd assume they must be removable as I cannot see HasTak making such a glaring error on a masterpiece figure considering they were so careful to get his asymmetrical face right; the back panels seem to be attached to the chest pieces, so when they are transformed correctly and compressed more into the chest the back panels will be more accurately placed on the back half of his shoulders. I am seeing alot of complaints from people saying these figures don't live up to the Masterpiece name, but you have to remember that the movie designs have so many small parts and panels that if HasTak were to make the figures 100% CG accurate they would end up costing around $500+ each. The G1 masterpieces look better because their designs are so much simpler, meaning the engineering required to achieve a cartoon accurate look is alot easier to integrate into the figures. As someone who grew up watching the movies (I turned 10 in 2007), I feel that I am as impressed and glad to be getting these figures as those of you who grew up in the 80s with G1. So bring on more MPMs! I hope to see Jazz next...
I hope we can get some official pictures of the products today, especially the MPM-6 and those studio series
Two words: Masterpiece Megatron. If the movie figures take less than 100 steps to transform (Megatron took 107 steps), they aren't as complicated as they could be.
For something as high quality as this I can understand why scale is important. It would be important to me if I were collecting these which I would do if Bumblebee didn't have that protruding backpack and Optimus had a better looking back and painted feet. If I'm going to get inaccurate figures then I'm happy with the Studio series.
