@Talos: So you have managed to get a copy of Arashii. Have to managed to see any improvements in regards to the shoulder re-design from his older brother?

 

I just got in today. I cannot comment on what exactly the shoulder issue was that you are alluding to, because it has been a while since I read the DNA Susanoo posts. If you would be so kind as to remind me, I could take a look. What I can say about the figure is that rotating that left shoulder into alt-mode was tricky and a bit of a pain, the left shoulder pad seems to easily come out of the socket/port (I forget the term) on the left shoulder, as does the backpack/turret, much unlike my Susanoo, and the right side treads in alt-mode have much more slack than that of the left, making tabbing those together tricky again, but all of that is far from being a deal-breaker, because at least all of that plugs back in. Additionally, the turret, when opening, is missing three screws, two at the outer side that pops open, and one at the very bottom. It hasn't fallen apart or anything, but I do have my concerns in the long run, with regards to the backpack. I've already contact TCP about it, and knowing how awesome they are, I'm confident they'll get onto it pronto, so no worries about that.

Also, while my package did not include any instructions, beyond what is on the back of the box, there were two additional shoulder units, the parts that are inside the torso a bit and connect to the main arm, that come along with it. Just think of the glenohumeral joint (the part on the torso that connects the shoulder/arm to the body). I cannot say if theses are to be replacements for Susanoo, given that the coloring seemed to be equal to each figure, so those could be replacements for Susanoo, or for Arashi if circumstances demand. Otherwise, if I recall correctly, it seems to be almost a carbon copy of Susanoo, minus the slight redeco and recoloring (it does have a slight brown line between the toes that Susanoo is lacking), along with whatever subtle differences that could be there.

 

According to BBTS's listing of Arashi this is the shoulder upgrade that was mentioned.



As you mentioned about the two additional shoulder joints and the connecting hardware, that maybe needed upgrades for Susanoo's/Arashii's shoulders. Nevertheless, I take that you will be saving when needed, or when DNA Designs/Benscollectables/another TF reviewer can confirm the two additional shoulders.

Looks that Arashi is another contender for my 3rd Party Masterpiece list.

Is that solid at all? The legs look precarious.

 

Yes, the connectors are pretty solid. They're toleranced well enough that the combiner ports don't slide out unless exacting force on them.

 

You can mix CW limbs with TFC's Liokaiser!? Is it the same connection port? Am I seeing this right?
