I think that’s why Kup’s first death was something we could take more easily. Roche at least drew the TF Infestation mini.

Let's see where we are by issue 5. Number 1s sell well and comic shops don't back up the truck on TFs books as it is. Plus they killed Kup. I will bet you cold hard cash there is no Visionaires book being.published in a year....

this seems to be a lets pat ourselves on the back for taking a dead franchise and keeping the names changed everything about it. there's a smugness in the way they talk about how concept wouldn't work in the modern day.

I really don't get that. it seems to me that visionairies is an awesome concept! imagine people losing all these gadgets that make up modern life, these phone zombies having to deal with life outside facebook etc. and more to the point why don't they just rebuild. its an awesome idea and that they couldn't come up with any ideas on how to write that says a lot about their skills

the armour could have been provided specifically by merklynn to interface with magic, and, like the staffs in the original concept, need to be charged by merklynn once a month giving him more control over their actions. and explaining why he can send them on specific missions

This wasn’t the writers xhoice. As per her twitter the story was mandated from IDW higher ups and she simply did the best with it that she could given the direction she was given.

Normally I don't mind killing off characters... but can we leave Nick Roche's playthings alone, please? Ironhide would have been a much better choice if they wanted to kill off a known character; not only has he never really contributed much to IDW's plot, his death wouldn't leave a hole in a potential SoTW seauel somewhere down the line.

I mean, I agree that Kup’s fate should be left for Roche, but let’s be real here: we’re not getting any follow-up to SotW. The crossover stuff has tanked the sales of the IDWverse faster than regular sales attrition. Unicron’s gonna come, eat everything, and we’re gonna get a hard reboot. Autobots vs. Decepticons, 1st contact with Earth, maybe with the other franchises baked in from the beginning this time.

I hate that they had to change so much. And no spell poems or animal forms yet. Aside from Darkstorm’s statue, it’s new characters with old names. They could have created a totally new property called “Magic Lords” and not have to deal with changing anything. Practically all the videos I’ve seen reviewing this book didn’t know who the Visionaries were. That’s not saying that people hated the original, but people simply didn’t know of it. 1987 was a pretty crowded time. All of the great toy lines competed for the attention of youngsters. Visionaries got lost in the crowd.

Mike Costa killed Ironhide already. Hell, Kup and Wheeljack were killed too.

I do. Been a fan since 1987. But I’m not a fan of this rebooted version so far. Definitely not mixed in with Transformers in this way. I think they should exist, but on Prysmos, not Cybertron!

They would change them beyond recognition too. I used to be excited for reboots of old properties, but not like Hasbro’s reboots. More like Masters of the Universe 200X or ThunderCats 2011 to a lesser extent. Not the 80’s versions, but still recognizable.

a good story could be that the atmosphere of prysmos will no longer allow technology to function due to the abundance of magic. however mysteriously the transformers can function fine, it causes the council to want to disect a transformer to find out how to get things back to the modern era,and the darkling lords want to get them to restore tech just for themselves with the knights stuck in the middle
