I started doing that in jr. high school. Never looked back.

That's insane! It sounds like she was former military.

I had a Geometry teacher like that in High School. He was former military. If you spoke in class out of turn or without raising your hand, you had to write (not type) the rules: Seven LONG paragraphs on how you should behave in class and conduct yourself. When the bell sounded, you couldn't leave until he dismissed you, no matter how long the lecture went over. How that guy was allowed to teach was beyond me.

This, but slightly watered down. My GameCube is one of my most precious possessions, and its successors aren't nearly as memorable, but I don't think they're that terrible.

Cheating is fucked up, but so is thinking that your partner's infidelity gives you the right to destroy or damage their property.

I think it’s *highly* overrated. The Warners’ and Pinky and the Brain segments are great, but pretty much all the other segments consist of the same 1 - 2 jokes every sketch.

I loved Pinky and the Brain, but yeah. Animaniacs jokes have never appealed to me, not when I was a child and not now. I do applaud them for pushing the boundries of what they could get away with, but a lot of 90’s cartoons had innuendoes here and there too.

I think the boundaries the show pushed are the only memorable thing about it. Can anyone say they'd remember much from the show if it weren't for the stuff they got away with.

One that I'd hope isn't unpopular, but anyone who gets their cat(s) declawed is a monster, as are the vets that are willing to carry out the procedure.

Self-hatred memes/jokes aren't funny and never will be. Most of the time they're just from shitty toxic people who don't know how to be modest or clever, and when they are from people who actually suffer from depression/anxiety/etc it's doing nothing to help their conditions.

If you can't laugh at yourself you have no right to laugh at anyone else though.

Personally I think modesty is boring. Hiding yourself never allows anyone to truely know you. Lay it all out baby! You only scare away the self righteous people and that's a good thing.

Oh, I agree it's a good thing to not take yourself too seriously and laugh it off when you make a mistake. I'm talking about the people who are like "lol I'm trash/garbage/insert degrading words here." Those are usually the people who have friends and people who are willing to support them but they're so self-centered that they like to wallow in their perceived issues instead of being proactive.

I disagree. Self deprecation shows humility and a willingness to not take oneself too seriously. No one like arrogant assholes. I have all sorts of issues. Making light of them helps me to deal with them. I couldn't imagine walking on eggshells all the time because I couldn't poke fun at myself.

While I do think there is a time and place for a little self depreciating humor, I also think a lot of people who use it aren't using it to be funny, so much as bitter, angsty, or just following the tired trend of "if you don't have anything funny to say, just say that you suck.'
