Hi folks, it's the voting stage for the KO Toy of the Year 2017. You'll have one vote and voting ends on the 9th of January.

Feel free to post why you are voting for X toy but please be respectful of the choices and reasoning of others. I'm taking it as granted that folks who what these are KOs of.

I've grouped the Wei Jiang oversized KO titans return toys together. Likewise I grouped the Yes Model coneheads together.

    May the best KO win!

Thank you @Blacktimus for taking the time and effort to put the poll together! :)

2017 was an outstanding year for KOs, the quality is fast becoming on-par and in some cases even surpassing the originals. We now have competition between companies, helping drive that quality and giving us things we (well, me anyway) wanted like new panels to hide gaps, extra chrome or diecast, even Welker voice clips. And we'll always have our wacky beloved cheapie KO nonsense, such as a Donald Duck head on an Optimus body, with a captain America shield made of shampoo bottle plastic. The world of KOs is a wonderland for the senses!

I was sure the Jinbao Bruticus was 2016 but seems it sneaked out at end of December '16. I gave it my vote from the list, as it is a whole lot of impressive looking robot for the money (and as it happens, it's sitting alongside, watching me right now, so I better not make it angry.) Like all polls I have a few personal favorites that didn't make the list and I don't have all of those on the list, but from what I can tell each finalist was a good quality toy many of them fulfilled a gap in the collection or a need. I look forward to seeing who arises as the champion!

I think the YM coneheads were like that too.

This is the follow-up poll from the Ko nomination thread... There were a ton of KOs this year.

    Interesting that Rendsora is leading.
The quality of materials, heft, and paintwork is very good specially for the price. But it really does not make me go wow. I actually think that (since I got it around the same time and since they both transform into a plane of roughly similar sizes) MPF-11 made me smile more when transforming to alt mode. Maybe because I think that "alien" alt modes are cheats/lazy - they can have protrusions, things sticking out, or exposed hollow areas, and pass it off as details (Unlike earth-object alt modes that needs to be clean)

But yeah, as a KO - it is a big improvement from the source material.

I would prefer that WeiJiang put their effort on the OS masterpiece line though - we are not getting them fast enough.

I think he is winning because of the volume of people that bought him. I bet more people bought him than any other KO this year.

The voyager Headmasters are a dream come true for me.
Hoping Wei Jiang give us Weirdwolf, Mindwipe and Chromedome too and give the Wingbrothers and Dinobots the same treatment.

    I went with Rendsora.

I think JB OS Bruticus is actually the best value for the price on this list, however they aren't the best build quality. Found their plastic to be weaker than the Machine Boy releases and many joints to be loose, especially in the feet on some of them.

I have both the OS Warbotron and the three Conehead seekers. All are wonderful toys. The Coneheads have that Masterpiece look and feel. The Warbotron is more toyish, with cheaper, but extremely durable plastic.

I would give a strong recommend to either.

I voted for Rendsora. My only complaints are: I own two movie toys and I wish WJ would've made new leg skirts. The ones he has make him look he has no leg articulation.

    Yep!

Excuse me, but a list without KBB MP10-V and without NBK Constructicons for me is incomplete! It's what I think. It was the best of 2017 for sure!

    "KBB MP10-V"
    Pretty sure that's 2016.

I believe the release was Skywarp and Thundercracker in 2016, Starscream delayed to December/January, and the Coneheads were early 2017.

This is the voting thread. There was already a nominations thread up for a while previously.

I would say that the OS Bruticus (as well as Alcee) is a KO doing something that is amazing (fulfilling a desire of the frans).

The coneheads, and to a lesser extent Inferno and Data-clerk, are KOs doing something that is necessary (filling a need in the marketplace).

Not sure which of these functions is more important. Glad that they all exist.

OS Bruticus takes it for me, filled the Bruticus void in my MP collection well enough and it's a really, really solid offering for the price.
