– Barricade Concept Art By Wesley Burt. A great animated image of Decepticon Barricade. This time looking similar to his original body from 2007 movie but using elements and parts of the new alt mode in TLK. A comparison image was also shared via Wesley Burt’s Twitter.

– Daytrader concept art By Wesley Burt. According to Wesley Burt on Twitter this was “another rough Daytrader idea, this one sort of rustic americana Willie Nelson inspired“.

my god that Barricade is too good. 

 

Daytrader's concept art reminds me of Mez from the New Star Wars.

Hmm..kinda reminds me of granma back from groceries shopping buying goodies & knick knacks for the whole family lol.

 

I like the head on Barricade in this concept, but the body is a lot better with what we got in the film.

 

I like both this and the movie one, Bad Cop and Badder Cop.

 

Barry's body looks like it would be great for another character. I like that he sports his movie head, but I like the one in the movie a lot more though.

 

I said this before but as a designer it's so nice knowing the level of detail concept designers go into, in this case not that much compared to the final design. It gives me confidence about what standard I can work to.

 

Now I'm someone who genuinely enjoyed the movie and still ewatches it occasionally, but everytime I see a post like this I feel cheated because it could have been so much more

 

Barricade looks good with some extra bulk. One of these days, it'd be cool to see him as an armored SWAT truck or something.

 

That Barricade would have been so much better than what ended up in the film. I didn’t mind the new body, but the updated head was garbage.

I'm not too much of a fan of how small/pinheaded Barricade's noggin is in that concept sketch, to be honest. It looks like one of those weirdly proportioned custom Barricade figures on eBay using Leader Bumblebee as a base with HA Barricade parts (and that's not a good thing, IMHO).

I actually did like the final concept that we ended up getting in TLK (even his head sculpt was decent with his blue and red quad-optics) but I didn't care for Barricade wearing gangster bling (his knuckledusters were neat and made sense but his wearing gold chain necklaces and gaudy medallions did not, just like with half of the other Cons in TLK being dressed like gangbangers -- thanks for perpetuating that dumb stereotype, Paramount).

 

Barricade looks like Animated Soundwave.

 

Barricade looks like he's wearing a giant suit of armor. Reminds me of Iron Man when he takes off the Hulkbuster helmet...

Still looks freaking sweet tho!
