I do not see how these are mutually-exclusive.

Yeah, Unicron is one that will never fit anyone's standard, and for that reason I don't care about him. I won't buy a Unicron figure, despite attempts to make him "scale" with a line (or multiple lines). I think it's a character/concept that applies to kids, and size is relative to their imagination and all of that crap. I still don't like the idea of Unicron because the comics origin doesn't appeal to me (religious nonsense), and the toon version is also pretty stupid (not trying to start a flame war, these are my opinions). As adults, we're never satisfied and that's fine too. I know what I'd like to see first is a titan class Omega Supreme and Scorponok. After that, they can make whatever they want but I probably won't buy it. If the discussion is toys. Haha

It still needs the JOHN WARDEN SEAL OF APPROVAL.
Two Scavengers into one?The combined mode will be just one of their names.Although...ditch that and make Crash Combiner Spincase! But a Generations Crash Combiner!

    ...........Oh! Roadbuster?

Yeah I agree but I'm sure he'll get another figure in another couple of years. Didn't he have a Supreme class?

Personlly, Battletrap looks great and I can\'t wit to get him in hand. I can\'t help but look at him and think of the crash combiners from RID and the potential with this guy.

Each to their own re Unicron

I picked up dark energon Unicron recently and I love him. He's not as big as a titan but he's a nice size and he just oozes menace. I prefer the dark colors to his traditional movie hues.

We may get a titan Unicron eventually and depending on what he turns out like I may get him but if they don't I'm more then happy with the dark energon one.

But Scorponok first. Fort max needs his rival. I'm not pushed on an omega supreme so he will be the first titan bar devastator I'll pass on. Then hopefully Unicron. But I may pass on him too

They use a head for the connector point, thus giving the combined mode a waist joint? That's clever.

I have to say, this is some of the most advanced engineering I've seen out of Hasbro at legends scale.

I'm so glad that they didn't try and shoe-horn a Titan/Prime Master cockpit in as well, as it probably would've had a rather negative impact on the figures as a whole. I like that instead they integrated some attachment points for the Prime Masters that can basically be ignored if you don't care about them. Much better to put the focus on the gimmick that matters: combining.

The blocky individual robot modes are a great homage to the generic G1 styling, but with much better articulation, and the resulting combined figure has great proportions.

    Bravo.

Battletrap has slowly risen to be one of the most prioritized figures on my 2018 list. This review definitely helped that.

It proves that when Hasbro want to they really can nail a figure. This is going to be an incredible wave

Funny though, if you take that combo and flip it over, it works MUCH better. Hotshot's (I have the silver version) huge arms there make nice solid legs and Downshift ends up with slightly more well proportioned arms.
